How a leader SHOULD behave...

Let's face it everyone - this is only another step in armaggedon. Seriously - what's happening in New Orleans is beyond awful, and Bush has done little to nothing to alleviate the situation. I was on vacation this past week in Vegas with a couple of friends but had CNN on in the room all the time, and it was constantly on in the poker room where I spent most of my time. I started talking about it with one of my friends and she said "I'm on vacation, this doesn't affect me now, I don't care." I was appalled, but her view quickly changed when we called home and found out how much gas was. My point here is that this has HUGE ramifications across the country. Rising gas prices, in large part due to Bush's failure to provide the necessary precautionary measures, are going to lead to riots -- I guarantee it. Think about it - soon enough, people are not going to be able to go anywhere because they simply can't afford it. Lock people up, restrict our freedom - and chaos ensues. This is NOT the end -- this is only the beginning.
I am truly frightened for what's going to happen in this country in the next couple of months.

Posted: 9/3/05 at 7:39pmWere there actual riots about gas prices in the 70's? I'm fairly ignorant about that part of history.
