How do you post a picture?

I think I knew how to do it once upon a time, but I have completely forgotten. I've tried posting the URL in the "Optional Image" bar, but when I preview it all I get is a little red X.

Are gifs posted the same way? Are gifs still a thing?

I looked in the "FAQ", but that's totally empty.

You do need to put the link in the box. Is it possible you got the red X because you put the link for the page instead of the link to the actual photo itself? (Assuming you are using a PC) right click the image and click "copy image URL" and use that link. If it's still giving the x, I'm not sure what the problem might be. And yes, gifs work the same way.

Hm. I'm using a PC, but when I right click the image, "Copy Image URL" isn't an option.

(And sorry, Phyllis, I have a feeling you were the one who explained it to me before...)
