My parents and siblings and I have had a pretty good relationship for the most part. When I was in my teens I hated my dad, we didn't get along at all. My mom and I had issues when I first came out. But once I figured that the 'mistakes' (if you can call them that) they made were not on purpose, and I stopped blaming them for stuff and basically got over it, we've gotten even closer.

I left home when I was 20. I wanted to get as far away from my family as I could, so I moved to the US. Then I decided to move as far as I could in the US, so I moved to Seattle. We've had a nice relationship, seeing the family about once a year or every other year. But as I get older, I now have this want/need to see them more often. I hate being so far away from my family that I'm missing out on important events and stuff, to the point where I'm considering moving back home.

So, yes, as I've gotten older, I appreciate my family a lot more.

I get along really well with my parents and my sister. I've had avery relaxed, very European upbrining. My brother and I on teh other hand HATE each other. we barely speak, it's rather amsing. we're very competitive which sorta all stemmed from competing to be our little sister's favorite but now just applies to everything... I dunno it's weird tho cause i've never really had any problems with my parents, but I guess that's what no curfew and very little parental intervention does.
