I have a friend who has been eating Wendy's every single day for the past two weeks or so. Tonight I tried to tell him that this wasn't healthy. He got very defensive and basically told me that I'm "the larger, more unhealthy one."
Eating Wendy's every day isn't healthy. Fast-food isn't high quality.
If your friend is that stupid they deserve what they get.

His arguement is that he "grew up" on fast-food so it won't affect him.
Well there you go. Sound reasoning.
Be there with him and force him to sit through Super Size Me. I know it is about Mcdonalds and not Wendy's but its still fast food and a lot of fast food no matter where it is from is made the same way and come from the same places.
But, with the sound logic your friend gave of " I grew up on fast food so I am ammune to whatever it may do to me." I wouldn't be suprised if they say that it is not Wendy's they are talking about and that those things only happen at McDonald's. As oppose to "Oh I should be more careful fast food is really bad for you." " I should have realized that this is stuff can actually kill me."
That one meal is more calories and fat than a person should eat in an entire day. Sometimes, just a burger is.
Yes, definitely make him sit through Supersize Me. If that won't stop him, I don't know what will.
Tell them to look at their blood pressure?!

People must be motivated to make changes.
If he doesn't want to change, he won't.
Send him to Morgan Spurlock's doctors!
Coincidentally, there was a whole article on AOL this morning about fast-food meals and how disgusting they are, and a Wendy's burger that's 1,680 calories is featured.

2 baconators will do him in.
A small chili or a baked potato are OK but I'm sure that's not what he's eating.
He's either going to weigh 400 pounds by the time he's 30, wind up in the hospital with a heart attack, or drop dead.
Either way, you won't have to convince him of anything.

Crue you're over reacting. My brother and I have eaten a Wendy;s basically non-stop since one opened down the block when we were 12 and Mom stopped cooking. And we are both healthy as horses.

Make him watch "Supersize Me" and "Fast Food Nation."
Ew.
Definitely have him watch Supersize Me. I barely got thru it & I have fast food only once in awhile.
In addition, tell him to go to his doctor & have him see what the doctor tells him. Tell him to follow the doctors advice.
Dress up like an Oompa Loompa (mmm...actually, you're good as is) and follow him around singing this song to him until he stops...

What do you get when you guzzle down sweets?
Eating as much as an elephant eats
What are you at getting terribly fat?
What do you think will come of that?
I don't like the look of it

What's "healthy" is subjective. Someone can always eat healthier.

It's an addiction. So, maybe an intervention along with a screening of Super Size Me and a visit to the doctor to get the doctor's advice.
It's amazing to me, people know this food is unhealthy, yet they still eat it, some eat it every single day. The only thing at any fast food place that I eat if I eat from one is the chicken nuggets cause they are one point a piece on Weight Watchers.
I've never found doctors to be a good source for nutritional information. I don't think it's heavily featured in their education unless they specialize in it.
Cruel, if you gave it some thought, I'm sure you'd know what to tell your friend. I think you were just in the mood to start another thread.
YOU, of all people feel the need to give advice.....now THAT is funny
The finger in the chili was a SCAM, people. It was proved to have been planted.
BUT, for those with an axe to grind, I just read that the huge conglomerate who bought up Bob Evans' restaurants and Arbys just consumed Wendy's too. The Thomas family is NOT pleased.
And, yes, the best medicine for your fiend is to watch "Super Size Me."
