I have no shame in admitting that I was very teary at the end.
The title says it all. It's about Human Trafficking.
It follows a few woment in various countries who have been abducted into slavery and the "ICE" officer who goes after one of the kingpins in the operation.

Didn't catch the TV show, seldom watch TV, but I have been following this subject in the press and otherwise for years including the BBC which has had heart-sickening articles about the luring of young women from the former Soviet Republics with promises of jobs and them being raped, tortured and forced into sexual slavery in Albania, Israel, Arab countries and other places.
Also articles on women and children being sold in Burma, Thailand, Cambodia and the efforts in Cambodia to make a safe place for trafficked victims to recover and restore their lives and how those have been invaded and the victims snatched at gunpoint. I spoke recently with a young woman lawyer who had been over there helping and it was pretty grim.
But even here in NYC there has been trafficking of girls from Mexico and South America, Asia and other places. And there is prostitution in NYC, of course. A young woman here in NYC told me that she attended a party in an expensive private apartment and she and her boyfriend unknowingly walked into a room full of naked people in the act and were told to take their clothes off or get out. They were pretty shocked. You might be of the belief that oh, with consenting adults that's okay. But one of such women in this type of "orgy" had a pretty sad story for another lawyer friend of mine about being used by a guy she was dating to be "swapped" at those kind of parties, and the women there are often prostitutes being posed as girlfriends.
I've always felt if this was so voluntary, why was money changing hands. The objectification of human beings and using them, exploiting them just doesn't seem to end.
On a positive note, Eve Ensler has been involved in a very big goal of trying to eradicate abuse against women throughout the world and has stated that as one of the goals of her The Vagina Monologues which has been produced in many countries now. It's good to think the arts can be an effort to improve things.
The miniseries did a good job of what I would call "fair" representation of the horrors involved. It wasn't glamourized or treated in any cheesy fashion. It was heartwrenching.

If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.
I saw the first part and, sadly missed the ending.
It's really one of the best things that I've seen on the telly in quite a while.
