personally, i agree with the thread being removed as well as the one that is now there on the subject. it has no place on the board - it's not about broadway and is just a personal attack. if you don't like the rules of the sandbox, get out - which is what people have done.

Robb, what about those people who find your icon offensive? I mean, I don't give a rat's ass about the Pope, but there are plenty of people who will object to seeing their spiritual leader being mocked. Some might even consider it a personal attack. And others would argue it has nothing to do with Broadway and doesn't belong here.

I'd be careful about defining the rules of the sandbox and telling others to get out.

Stop worrying about what I'm doing -- focus instead on what you're eating.

my icon is an actual photo, just as yours is. it is not something created by me to purposely offend. if people don't like it or your icon, they can block me - or you.

Right. Exactly. That's why I love you, RobbO. It's the same point people we're trying to make about the issue at hand. There was no reason to delete people's posts or a thread. You can just ignore them. Jose has done this to others in the past. Not cool.

but there is a difference between posting a statement/opinion, etc. on a subject and personally attacking someone. lately, there is a mob mentality around here and when it gets to a level deemed unsuitable, the powers that be (that created this site) choose to delete a thread just as they stated they would when THEY created the rules of the sandbox.

now, can i get back to my cocoa puffs - i'm hungry.
