Will someone PM me ,. please? I always enjoyed sum's posts.
CJR, I agree...I mostly lurk, but I think I need to take a break from reading this board.
PM whatever.
Here's the skinny according to one of our friends here:
"Sum left because of Jose'. Jose' came into the chat room last night, and they started insulting each other. Soon after, Sum posted on the Halloween thread about how he will be going as Jose'. His post was deleted. He posted it again, and it was deleted again. Then, he posted a last time, and the entire thread was deleted. Sum didn't understand why it was being deleted; it didn't go against any guidlines. It may have been because it was very late at night, but Sum decided he couldn't stay here. Very sad it had to end like that."
I thought we had decided not to post it. Just if you wanted the skinny, you'd ask for a PM.
Oops. Sorry. Who "decided" that? You who "will threadjack anything"?
Hmm...I'm pretty sure that StickToPriest decided it. And yes, I will threadjack anything. Evem if it's not a thread. For example- while going shopping at the mall, I will drop all my bags and break into song and dance. Now see? I've threadjacked this conversation. I kill myself.
I thought I knew what was going on b/c I caught some of the threads, but now, I, too, am majorly confused. How sad this all is...
PM please!
"I thought we had decided not to post it."
I think it's better for it to be posted; the people involved can explain their sides of the story themselves if they choose to, which they can't do if everything is being related through PM.

Exactly. Bring it out and let the chips fall where they may.
What an anonymous source told me verbatum:
"What happened was, Jose' and Sum were both in the chat tonight and of course they were fighting because Sum called Jose' an Ass and it all went downhill from there.
Then, there was a thread on the OT board about what would you be for Halloween if you were planning it...Sum posted "I will be going as Jose'" and it got deleted. So he posted it again. It got deleted again. Then he posted it again and the entire thread got deleted.
Sum then PMed Craig to ask what the deal was because he didn't do anything wrong. He didn't understand why, with all the snappy things that he's done and said, this was the thing that keeps getting deleted. So, he didn't get an answer from Craig and Craig was still signed on so he PMed him again. Still no answer.
Sum was fed up and decided that the unfairness of the censoring and everything just wasn't worth it anymore.
Its all very sad really."
Personally, This is all too melodramtic for me.
DRAMA!
I'm still going as Jose on Halloween.
And now let's see if this thread gets deleted.
BRING IT ON!
And let me just say, if anyone wants to go as me, you are more than welcome to come over and try on my clothes. If you need my stats and measurements, just ask.
Thank you, Zola. It is indeed sad when people are afraid to exercise the First Amendment on this board.
I think it is sad when an administrator abuses his powers. He doesn't want those things said about him, he should participate in that way himself. You do not see Craig and RobD getting into fights on here with people.
And, if this thread gets deleted merely because we spoke the truth, you will bet that I will be throwing a ****fit.
I'll be totally bummed.

wow, i've been a member here for what i consider to be decent amount of time and i thought i had seen the peak of the drama that this board could go through, guess i was wrong. i have to admit that ive been out-of-the-loop with the whole censorship thing though.
it sucks that people are leaving in such numbers, but i'll be the first to admit that ive thought about it before, and i don't even get involved in a lot of what goes on here. however, i have learned that there are no complete villains, nor are there victums on this board- let's just keep that in mind.

I'm going to post a brief reponse here to some questions I've gotten tonight via PM tonight. When I set up the board, I came up with a list of some very basic guidelines as to what was acceptable to post, and what wasn't. You'll find those linked conveniently at the top of the board. Those guidelines were made intentionally to be open to interpretation, because this site is - the good, the bad, and the ugly - a community. As such, most of what we deem unacceptable as moderators, are things that the community as a whole objects to, publicly or privately to us.
Are there things throughout history here that should have been removed and weren't or vice-versa? Definitely, and I'm the first to admit it. There's two important things to keep in mind though. First of all, is that this is a message board, and in the scheme of life, death, and other fun things like that I'd hope that no one takes any of this stuff too seriously, or too personally. The second, is that this site isn't anonymously run, or monitored, and as the fella at the top of that hierachy, my door is always open. There's about a gazillion ways to get in touch with me here, as most of you know. If there's something you feel should be removed and hasn't, or if there's something that was removed you feel shouldn't have been - contact me. We might not agree, I might not be right, but what's important is mutual respect, and communication. That's how a community succeeds.
Goodnight all,
Rob
p.s. One wee-addition to the above of something that's important to keep in mind is to remember that everyone's levels of what's funny, what's offensive, etc. are all different. Disagreeing with others assessments of things is fine - just respect their right to feel that way.
