re: I Accomplished a Productive Thing Today....

It *is* a pretty awesome feeling, voting for the first time. I cast my first vote for George McGovern.

I've made a real effort to never miss an election, no matter how minor, because I feel I forfeit some of my right to bitch about things I don't like if I've failed to participate.

That being said, I've voted for some pretty "out there" candidates over the years, but at least I voted. (Anyone remember Barry Commoner?)

Glad your visit to the polls was memorable. It's as it should be.

My first vote was for Hugh Carey for governor of New York 1974.

I didn't get an awesome feeling the first time I voted, it didn't feel like that big of a deal. It's probably because I just bubbled in the absentee ballot watching TV instead of actually getting to go to the booth and voting.
