Seriously, how many people in Texas can even fit into skinny jeans in the first place?
Honestly, I was never skinnier than when I lived in Houston, but it's probably all that sweating in the humidity ten months out of the year walking to and from my car that did it.
From the article: “We don’t allow striped shirts or check shirts,” said Laura Jobe, a district spokeswoman. “There are certain types of clothes that are not acceptable dress style.”
Stripes and/or checks are not acceptable dress style?!?!?! I could understand if it was some sort of gang-related issue, but to say they are just simply not an acceptable STYLE is insanity. My grandmother has lived in Mesquite, Texas for over 40 years and she wears plenty of stripes and checks. These people are idiots.
i can understand banning those two things from being worn together...
I can only assume they might think stripes will turn boys gay and checks will turn girls gay. Or something. I bet they don't ban mullets, fake tans and dried-out over-treated platinum blonde hair with split ends.
maybe they're afraid this will happen
or this
or this
With that last photo, you made a justifiable point.
if i had found proof that wearing checks turns you into zac effron, i would have banned it in school, too.
I wonder what paisley does. Would it turn me into Florence Henderson circa 1973?

Ugh those pics just reminded me how much I hate the look of them. Unless you're on stage singing in a punk band.
Honestly, I do not like skinny jeans on most boys. However, I think they're a cute style for girls, as long as they're worn with the right shoes. But I don't like the kind of skinnies that are SUPER tapered and tight at the ankles... a little looseness at the ankles looks better to me.

I thought the point of skinny jeans was they were tappered at the bottom. I prefer them on girls too.
here's the pic of boot cut I was trying to post--though I wear mine usually a bit tighter in the ass I guess

What I mean is, there are different kinds of skinny-leg cuts. I prefer the ones with scrunched ankles, like this:
As opposed to the really painted-on ones, which only look good on extremely thin girls:

UGH they just make her look more anorexic. Again, I'm not sure why anyone would want a GUY especially to look like this... *shrug*
i have to roll mine up a little bit at the bottom, even if i buy the ones labeled "short" (which aren't as easy to find, so i usually end up buying regular ones)
i tried to have them be scrunched up a little like in the picture, but i wear skateboard shoes, and it didn't look right with them. my friend wears them that way with chuck taylors and it looks better.
