I don't think of you as old, Jane. Note I said "older"; older than our beloved Schmerg and Danmag, I imagine (as am I).

Why thank you schmerg!
Reggie, I myself am the one who keeps referring to myself as ancient. It's my own fault, not yours!

Posted: 1/23/09 at 11:41pmI feel I have earned every grey hair on my head and I wear them with pride! I have also earned every wrinkle, every world weary line. I do not understand why people feel they have to go under the knife. My motto in the shop as well as in life: "If you can't fix it, feature it!"

Posted: 1/23/09 at 11:51pmMy favorite part of being a senior is going up to every good looking guy I see and telling them how handsome they are. I simply walk up to them and say.......you've got to forgive me, I'm not flirting with you I'm a grandmother but I have to tell you, you are one good looking young man. It's all very innocent.

I sometimes enjoy doing that with women. I play the gay card--"I'm gay. I have no ulterior motive. I just wanted to tell you that you're lovely."
It's nice to be able to express that sometimes.

Posted: 1/24/09 at 12:06amI'm into doing that too. I recently told a manager at my gym that he was very charming and that his bosses put the right person in the office. I held back though, from saying how good looking I thought he was.

It's too bad we all couldn't feel comfortable doing that because we think nothing of looking at a piece of clothing or a pair of shoes and commenting on how gorgeous they are.
In my old age I just speak my mind now, I've even told girls how pretty they are. They might think I'm a little strange but oh well.

Reg, I'm 44! I'm not that far away from the AARP discounts.
I also like to eat dinner at 4:30, so bring on those early bird specials!

My biggest problem right now is being "pre-senior". I'm really feeling (and looking) my age but I'm still a few years from being able to get any of the benefits. (I'm 58 )

Oh dear, so many of you are using variations of my usual line with NYC policemen:
First I walk up to them and ask if they'd get upseet if I paid them a compliment (how could they say no?) Then I tell them I just returned from an extended stay in Europe and I can honestly say that NYC has the best looking men on their police force. It makes even the burliest of the crew blush! I love it!

That can be said about our firemen, but not the cops.
For some reason, everyone in the NYFD is hot.
