I have lived in New England for 25 years and have never been there. Any ideas of what to do there? I know it is off-season. BTW....I hear the place is rampant with um.....you know......homosexuals.

I'm straight, but I enjoy Provincetown...a lot of nice little shops, restaurants, and art galleries. I usually go there with my family to go on the whale watches. We also get salt water taffy from one shop everytime we go there. Pleasant place, lol.

I've never been there.......in fact my first time in Key West was 2003.....being on the West Coast I'm more Russian River, WEHO, and Makena Beach I guess........
I was in New Hope once........

My parents have been taking my brother and I to PTown almost every year for since I was 10. It's a fun place. Lot's of fun shops, there are a lot of beaches but this time of year they obviously are not main destination. It's a great place to walk around in.

Am I cut out to spend my time this way?

I went there last summer with a friend of mine. Very odd timing for us. It was bear week, but the Rosie O'Donnell cruise was also docked there during that time. So, during the day, the streets were full of lesbians pushing strollers. During the night, beefy gay men in chaps.

As for what to do, it would be too darn cold to do what I liked! (kayaking, whale-watching) The bike trails up in the big dunes are nice if it's not too cold to rent a bike. And if you want to pm me, I can tell you of a certain drag show that really sucked and should be avoided.

You really can't ride bikes in P'town and certainly not the dunes in February. I just looked it up on Weather.com and it's the mid-low 30s this week. The dunes, being right on the ocean, will be unbearably cold.
