I think he should team up with the surviving Del Rubio triplet, now that would be something to see.

By the way, are you still a triplet even though the others are dead?

re: re: well i love the hong kong ricky martin

Papa, baby--you did jump on the race card (and some mumbo jumbo about liberals and the left?) a little quickly. I think what Karma may be saying is what I would fear for the guy--to be thrown into a tornado of a business and taken advantage of (is he really getting paid a fair percentage of those profits--even if it IS a novelty act) and then left out to dry on his own once those 15 minutes end. It's possible that he will be able to maximize everything thrown at him, and walk away with money and the ability to return to a non-celeb life just fine. It's more likely that the money will run dry (the way even bigger celebs have endured) and he will be thrown back into "real life" too famous, yet too poor to protect himself.

The comments about his not knowing that he is "famous for the wrong reasons" prob came from his earlier comments where he did seem to imply that he was going to get voice lessons and was going to "make it" as a singer. That is the impression that Mr. Hung initially gave. Glad he IS aware of the reality.

yeah, a lot of that was a reaction to the article in the village voice that's linked on page 1 of the thread. i'm just ready for a drink i guess.

re: re: re: re: re: re: re: re: well i love the hong kong ricky martin

i think he's utterly amazing!
i'm waiting for his turn on broadway

possible roles to play

fiyero - imagine dancing through life, maybe wayne cilento can give him choreography because hung has been taking dance lessons and singing lessons, haven't you heard!

mark in rent

roger in rent
imagine the pain and heartfelt sorrow of him belting the hell "one song glory"!!

seymour in little shop - but this would be a stretch

emcee - too bad cabaret closed. imagine him belting "i don't care much"

marius - once again too bad les mmiz closed, if he sang "empty chairs" there wouldn't be a dry eye in the house.

God the possibilities are endless!

PLEASE crossover to theatre! i beg of you!

well i love the hong kong ricky mar

Don't feel bad, Vis. I was going to ask the same question--Who is he? I think I managed to watch AI 2 times before I got bored with the whole thing.

I watch very little TV. In fact, I'm honestly thinking about having the cable yanked. I pay fifty bucks a month and almost never watch anything on it. If it wasn't for the Sci Fi channel, I'd be on the phone saying, "Cancel my service." right now.

The only shows I really watch are "Joan of Arcadia", "JAG" and "OLTL" because of the vampire guy from "Port Charles". I don't need cable to see them.

Well, D, I don't really feel "bad" about it; I didn't watch American Idol even when I was living with my mother and had 100-some odd channels. In fact, the concept of the show wasn't explained to me until the end of its first season. And this was when I was in high school, the hot bed of popular culture.

Now I have I think all of five channels, one of which is the Fordham Channel which gives me all of the up-to-the-minute coverage of all the Fordham goings-on. I'll stick with my MASH and AbFab DVDs.

LcZ, can't get my CD player to work with FloMo's CD, here's a picture of the album cover though, if that's any indication....

Who knew I was going to start a riot by a simple statement like "I hate William Hung." All the psycho babble and dialectic that followed! Jeez.

I just hate the guy because he gets to advertise through his name what only those closest to me get to discover.
Stop worrying about what I'm doing -- focus instead on what you're eating.
