Why feel bad for him, Karma? He's making a lot of money and building a career out of being bad. I think he knows he's bad and that seems to be fine with him as long as it gets him somewhere. He's like the new Brittney Spears, talentless yet very famous and has a recording deal.

feel bad that he doesn't appear to know he is being made fun of, more over then anything. that is why I feel bad. he is making money??? 25 grand is money? can not compare to Britney spears at all. If we go with your theory, people who are buying Britney's records are the ones who are being taken advantage of not her.

I think he does know that he is being made fun of and is going along with it. Some people are willing to be made fools of in order to get the fame and money. And yes, I think that it is the buyers of Brittney's music that are being taken advantage of. At least those who are not teens.

nope, he's got no idea what's going on here, the poor guy. i'm torn between what offends me more: the condscending view that he's too dumb to know what's going on (which has its own racist undertones), or the idea that he somehow doesn't deserve the fame that he's gotten (who are you folks to be the arbiter of fame? obviously you're wrong since he's got it!).

I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it. He is building a career on being a bad singer. Many people before him have done the same thing. It's a talent in itself to take your lack of talent and build a career of it. I think it's very smart of him to do so and I wonder if he had that planned all along when he auditioned for American Idol.

papalovesmambo racist undertones???? HOW??? they are taking a boy who is pretty much tone deaf and saying hey babe you can sing get out there. Now If I had 2 left feet but had a HUGE desire more then anything in the world to be a dancer and just for fun someone said hey your are funny lets base a show around your dancing...you MIGHT get clouded by all the buzz around you. you got people telling you you're fab. you MIGHT actually think..hey now I got the RIGHT people to make me into this incredible dancer when the fact of the matter is I have 2 left feet. THAT is the problem I have with it.
AS long as he is having fun that is fine but yes I think he understand where the Hype comes from but I think he might get his heart broken when he realizes it is just business and when he is done they are done with him. I am sure he will end up fine but I just hope he is not too hurt.

ok your the ONLY one who said cause he is Asian he does not understand??? who in all hell said that! BY THE WAY you don't even KNOW my nationality so that is very presumptuous of you I must say

he is yes going along for the ride...it is there why not take advantage right..sure. he checked out stuff before he took a leave from school and signed. I look at that as more of a defense mechanism as him true whole heartedly believing in it. he loves to sing good for him..he got his wish. I hope he get training and turns out awesome. oh, vish, you of the tv illiterate opera set! he's the "she bangs" guys who was unceremoniously tossed from the bastion of pop culture, american idol, and who has since parlayed his spirited but atonal rendition of the aforementioned song into his 15 minutes with a record of him offering equally intersting renditions of other tunes and multitudinous public apparances. accoding to some we should feel awfully for this poor man who's being well compensated for his activities because even though he has said he fully understands the phenomenon, obviously he cannot truly understand what's happening to him.
