I pulled a 3.8 last semester in music school. I'm a freshman music ed major... And I'm surprised because I thought it'd be lower.
So a 3.9's something to be proud of!

Um... I have a 3.19 GPA, couldn't make it into National Honor's Society, and I don't know if many colleges will accept me...
So get over yourself.
Omg. I know people have already said this, but calm down. It's 0.1 difference.
If you stress out this much about 0.1 then you might go insane.
Relax.
Breath.
Don't stress out about it.
There are more things to worry about then not getting a 4.0.
Inhale.
Exhale.

You're only a freshman, right? You have 3 and a half more years to raise your GPA, even though you don't really have anything to worry about. And top schools don't always require absolutely perfect scores. I knew someone who had her heart sent on going to a small but prestigious school, and she was her class valedictorian. She got a letter from the school saying that they had gotten applications from 150 class valedictorians and they wanted more diversity. So, just keep working hard and you'll get in where you're supposed to.
