We were at the opera last night, seeing Falstaff.
Was that YOU?

Posted: 9/25/05 at 12:22amMy friend (only 14) can hit high E's and higher notes than that. She is one of those people with a one in one million talent. She is gonna be the knew Julie Andrews when she gets older, trust me. She is so nice and humble though, it is amazing. I wish I could get a clip of her singing on here.

Throbstaff...was that a solo perfomance you gave or a duet?
Or was it an ensemble performance?

Estimable ensemble, Palsy.
Boy2, there will never be any call for the another Julie Andrews. I mean, what exactly is she supposed to do? There is, to quote Hedwig, no need. No need.

Posted: 9/25/05 at 1:43amHey, but what we need is an EMILY (not giving last name) and that one will be good enough. SHe will be a legend, the only thing is, she doesn't want to achieve that particular goal. She asts as though she has no passion to make it as a singer on Broadway or in any other music. It amazes me that someone with SOOO much talent would just use it as a past time. But that is her decision.

Posted: 9/25/05 at 1:56amShe is way better than Brandy though. HA! Makes me laugh you even compare her to Brandy. She wants to play the role of Christine in the Phantomn of the Opera. What amazes me is she is a super soprano (she has a huge bell tone and everything) 4 octave range, but she can belt like you cannot believe. I WANT THAT TALENT!! grrrr...

I wasn't comparing her to Brandy. I meant it more like.. when you say Brandy, you did (or might still, if you live in 1995) think of The Brandy.
Your friend is now The Emily. When I hear Emily, I'm going to think or your friend, Emily.
Does that make sense?

Posted: 9/25/05 at 12:07pmFor the onomatopoeia effect. I figured opera afficiandos would appreciate a word that approximated the first note of my highly skilled wind instrument.

Posted: 9/25/05 at 4:48pmI have to say that I haven't read anything in this thread beyond the first post yet, but "pooted" vs "farted" makes the thread much funnier to me.
