I'm certain Corine, our resident cheerleader for attempting to resuscitate closing shows, will join me in lamenting the departure of PERFECT CRIME.
No shedding of a tear? No ticket buying campaign? No mention of unemployed performers? No love shown for this long standing fixture on the street called Broadway?
I don't know if I was more shocked to hear of the closing or that someone with their finger on the pulse failed to report its closing.
I feel like wearing black today.

First the Gaiety, then Howard Johnson's, now Perfect Crime.
Broadway ain't what it used to be.

Nothing.
I just don't understand tha apathy. PREFECT CRIME was so, so, so much like FORBIDDEN BROADWAY...only different.

I walked out of Perfect Crime.
Terrible show, unlike La Cage.

Oh, Matt, you'd like that, wouldn't you?
All I'm going to say is...my show lasted longer than her show, na, nadda, na, na!

Posted: 6/8/05 at 5:28pmDid I read somewhere that Catherine Russell and Michael Minor both have a great belt and will be joining the cast of FORBIDDEN BROADWAY?

Bash her, trash her, degrade her and drag her face through the merde all you want, Corine, but Catherine Russell had a PASSION, and it was Perfect Crime. She found her passion and committed herself completely to her passion and she passionately persued her passion.
She's a feminist hero in my book. But then again, you've always had something of a woman problem.

I feel sad for her. Passion is something to admire.
I saw that show though.
AGONY. I could not make it to the second act.
But it ran for many years.
So, I give her credit.
But it sucked!
Woman in the business that I admire.
Jeanine Tesori- Caroline or Change, Violet, Millie, The music for Showbusiness. This is a woman I admire.
AND SHE HAS PASSION.
With a capital P!
Others:
Jen Simard gives new meaning to the word PASSION.(Funny)
Kristin Chenoweth- funny, passionate and a great singer.
Julie Halston- She is not only one of the funniest woman in theater, she is also very sweet.

Well, Julie's funny and sweet, but what's her PASSION?
Kristin is funny first, passionate second and a great singer, a distant third. But what's it going to take to make passion her priority??
Now, clearly the difference for you is that Catherine Russell is passionate but Jeanine Tesori is Passionate. However, how can you know that for sure? How do you KNOW that Catherine Russel doesn't spell her version of Passionate with a capital P?
I think you're being very judgmental. And I can't BELIEVE you walked out of Perfect Crime, which was nothing if not a "crime" of PASSION. With a capital p, capital ass, capital i, capital on.

Julie is one of the funniest women on the planet.
Her passion is CHARLES. Not a bad passion to have.
I think they were hysterical in "Vampire Lesbians of Sodom"
this past year.
Probably one of the funniest things I have seen since Vilanch's jokes at the Lortell awards.
Funny people are Julie's passion.
I think she would make a great Ethel to Charles as Lucy.
That would be funny.
And don't you think Vilanch would make a great Fred.
And I would love to see Harvey attempt Ricky.

Posted: 6/8/05 at 10:44pmHoney, don't overinvest again! Julie Halston's passion is not CHARLES. Dear god, don't fixate on her as a role model and imagine her being in love with a gay man the way you always end up! I say this for your own good.

Namo honey,
I am in love with a straight male.
I might admire gay men, but not love them.
There is a difference.
I admire talented people. I am not in love with them.
Julie admires Charles, how could you not admire Charles!
