This is probably completely staged but it's so f***in' funny.

Staged? No way. Next you'll be telling me that Jerry Springer is scripted and staged.
When I see things like that I fear for the future of humanity.

That kid ate more food in that clip than I eat in two weeks.
"...and if my baby loses her pacifier, I have three more!"
LOL, I watched that video just last night. I watched an episode of South Park that I *think* was based off of it, so I had to hunt it down and relive the insanity.
The only thing wrong with that diet is the cupcakes in the middle of the night. THAT is what is making that girl fat. CUPCAKES!
Well, the kid didn't get that fat by accident, so I'm willing to bet that it's at least a little genuine...
I quit watching Maury after the 10th consecutive paternity test show. When there was still some variety, though, that was some good trash TV...
Rose, Maury has his "giant babies" show on around once a month, for a little variety, I guess. Once in a while he throws in a "guess the gender" drag show too.
"I know she's overweight - tell me something I don't know, Maury"
"Whatever - the bigger the better!"
Ok..does she realize she's killing her child? I mean..does she??
Poor kid.
Maybe the mother wasn't fed as a child, so now her past is coming back to haunt her and she's doing everything in her power to not be the same mommy that her mommy was.
ALTHOUGH. That would not excuse killing her baby.
First off, there is NOTHING funny about that - it's sickening. Secondly, why is the mother yelling everything she says?
But Cruel, didn't you start a thread asking why people laughed at the overweight?

Why is she yelling? Beacause that's what these guests are told to do. It gets the audience riled up and ready for combat with this woman the minute she walks onto the stage. I'm sure that much of her attitude was prompted by the shows producers.
I'm sure thata s the show progressed, there were lot's of verbal battles between her and the audience and in the end, maury, nice guy that he is, convinces her to let the show pay for nutritional counseling for her and her child.
Because, Rath, it's Maury... On Maury you are supposed to yell everything and you don't get paid unless you say WHATEVER! at least 7 times.
LOL yes, and you also have to do the bend over and stick out your rear dance!
