I just found out that my school is doing HONK! and this frightens me for several reasons. It just seems so....kiddy-ish and not at all the challenging material I was looking forward to doing.

Then, it turns out that there will be, like, a lot of dancing, which I can't really do at all.

Then, there was the time last year when we put on a wretched production of Once on This Island, a musical so cheesy and poorly written that it was, like, instant death on stage. Mleh. Please someone tell me that HONK! is worth it... Updated On: 9/7/05 at 06:56 PM

HONK is such an amazing musical! Great story, AMAZING MUSIC, and the dancing isn't that bad. It's your typical ensemble dancing.. you know. It's not THAT kiddy-ish.. there's alot of meaning in the script! Once on this Island.. omg I HATE that musical ever so much! It's boring and BLAH.. Honk has alot of sexual inuendos in it that children would not get. Either that or I'm just a perv. lol

It's a cute show anyways, not my fav but it's cute. My HS did it after I graduated... looked like Honey I Shrunk the Kids on stage!

I did HONK jr. at a summer camp this summer. I was the Ugly duckling and it wasn't a very good part. I would have loved to be the cat,that's a great part! But I don't know about the non-jr. one. Cute show anyway.

i LOVE honk! I did it this summer with kids. we cut out a lot, but if you read the original script...whoa man, there's a lot of adult themes there!! and there are tons of great parts with different GREAT songs..."Wild Goose Chase", "Warts and All..."...

I haven't read the version you guys are all talking about. There is some humor but not crude humor in the one I worked with. The music is my fav.

i don't think the humor in it is -crude- humor, when i say adult i just mean they talk about things that aren't exactly -normal- for a kiddie show (drake accusing ida of having an affair with a turkey, the song between queenie and the cat, how she likes "a bit of rough"...things like that.)

I love Honk. We did the junior version, and I was the Cat. The show is fun, it's very cute and kid-friendly. I know the regular version requires a deeper and more mature audience, because it's a bit more serious...but anywho, the show is really good.

And it IS worth it.

My friend did it at his college and loved it, he said it was a great show, obviously I raised an eyebrow at that one, btu he raves about it.

I was in Honk! my junior year of high school. One of my favorite theater experiences. A great show. Love it.

Honk annoys me, but I'm sure it's very sutible for the highschool crowd, and I guess it's cute for kids to do.

Ida does make alot of comments about Drake that have adult themes. Some of the funniest lines in the show!
