I wasn't too sure about Whoopi at first but now that I've seen her action- I like her. She really puts everyone in their place. Sherri Shepherd is obviously the least intelligent on the panel and I love it when Whoopi asks her to explain herself. I like Joy but sometimes she seems so self-righteous and spotlight hogging. I have seen Whoopi put her in her place and you can see how uncomfortalbe Joy becomes. Today there was a big argument between Whoopi and Sherri and then Barbara started talking jive like Beaver's mom in Airplane to get them to stop- it was classic. I really liked Rosie but I also like Whoopi- she's starting to warm-up now and I can't wait to see more fireworks! mom
Sherri the least intelligent? NUH-UH. That title belongs to Elizabeth.
I love Whoopi but wish she would better transition into commercials.
I miss Rosie.

Whoopi's great. She gives off a calm, motherly vibe amidst the meshugas of everybody else. That Sherri is annoying though. She's basically there for Joy to make boob jokes. he he
I've always loved Whoopi. I saw that bruhaha between her and Sherri today. It was so fabulous! I'm happy they put Sherri on the show. She's definitely the dumb one.
Whoopi is the best! No one has ever made me laugh harder or cry harder.
Yeah- I'm not an Elisabeth fan at all. Since she's on maternity leave, I kinda forgot she was on the show! I don't think Elisabeth is as dumb as Sherri (in the book smart way). I still miss Rosie but Whoopi is starting to cut loose and I love watching it! I still can't wait for Whoopi and Elisabeth to get into it- that is if EH comes back after maternity leave. How can someone as self-righteous as Elisabeth even think about working when she has 2 young children at home! mom

This may be a reason for me to start watching The View again, just to see that loud mouth, Joy, put in her place.
Ida- your avatar makes me smile every time I see it! I have seen some of your other posts and I must say you are fitting in very well for a newbie! I love watching Whoopi tell the others to be quiet so she could finish her sentence. We may even have less interrupting this year! Go Whoopi! mom

Thanks, Supportivemom. I'll let you in on a little secret, this is strictly between the two of us, so keep it to yourself. I'm not really a newbie. I'm a sock puppet. My real goal here is get people to like me, lull them into a false sense of security. Then systematically take over the board.
Remember, don't tell anyone else and there will be a place for you and a few select others in the new regime.
I used to be a big Joy fan-even before the View. But not so much anymore-it bothers me that you can tell exactly what she's thinking every single minute of the show. She's got a constant irritated look on her face, especially when someone else is getting the laughs, the applause, or the attention. she fidgets with her hands and her pencil all the time, like she's nervous. She needs to relax a little more.

When the show first started, I thought Joy was a riot. I loved her outspoken attitude and the way she always said exactly what she wanted to say, but had a great ability to temper it with her humor. After a while, she just started to irritate me.
Jane you hit the nail on the head! Remember though, when the show first started she was the funny one between Meredith, Star, Deborah, and Barbara. Now she has to compete with a phenomenal comedienne and a comic actress. She's no longer the only funny one. Ida- I don't care if you're not a newbie or a sock puppet- you make me laugh! mom
I love Whoopi. I also like Sheri, I don't think she's all that dumb, its her type of humor that makes her come off that way.

I have difficulty with Sherri ever since Barbara asked her if she thinks the Earth is round and she answered, "I don't know. I never thought about it."
Is that when Barbara told her to pick up a book and read it? Or was that over a different stupid remark Sherri made?

I don't remember that. I missed the show for a large chunk of time (up until this week). but it seems like Whoopi's made it her mission to edumacate her. LOL
Barbara told Sherri to educate herself after the first time she talked about not believing in evolution. That was before Whoopi or Sherri had joined as full-time co-hosts. The "Is the world flat?" conversation was after they joined.
Oh OK, thanks!
Mr Midwest- I loved Rich and Famous- big Candice Bergen fan here! Thanks for the stroll down memory lane! mom P.S. it does feel like Whoopi has taken on Sherri as her project to educate her in the ways of the world- it's so funny to watch!
I saw that today. I made me fully come to the conclusion that Sherri is a dummy.
I'll agree Sherri is stupid...is it an act? I hope so. Plus I'm tired of hearing about her "girls" and Ex-cheatin' husband. BTW I love Whoopi also.

I gave it a shot but the show has become a total bore. No big deal...one less thing I have to Tivo.
I had no idea they could cough up someone more ignorant than Hasselbeck. Wrong!
I am with you Blueroses. I check the website on Monday's to see who the guests are going to be for the week - and honestly, since Rosie left, the quality of guests and "star" power has been on the decline.
