I just received word that my older brother's wife is pregnant again! They already have a 17 month old daughter (my niece Autumn, whom many of you have seen pictures of). My sister-in-law, Jessica, is due in late December/early January. I'm really hoping the baby is a boy to carry on the family name, but I'll be happy with another niece. I'M ECSTATIC! =]
Im still in denial about the fact Im an uncle. My cousin had a baby when she was like 21yo, which is not something I am NOT very excited about, she is constantly stressed out about the baby, and obviously she didn't even get married to the guy, since they were both 21yo, and are just kids. Yet, the fact Im an uncle is horrible, it makes me feel old. Just not my kinda thing. My brother is smarter, he is 32yo and he is technically married, str8, professional, and yet, he doesn't have any plans to be a father. We will probably be our last generation, that'd be fantastic...well actually he might have children eventually.
Anyways Chrissy, congratulations!

Chrissy - you sound very happy about this - congratulations!
Not to be a potential downer, but I've recently been dealing with some real heartache concerning one of my sister's children. In the end, it can be difficult to realize and accept that they're not YOUR kids, and the life they get to lead can be quite outside your impact.
But you sound so excited, I hope that means that you are committed to being a part of their lives. It can make quite a difference.
awwwww! congrats!
i'm a psudo auntie to my friend's almost-8 month old. i love to spoil her lol
Bitter, jaded?
Totally
I admit it
but bringing a child to this world, I just couldn't do it.
Congratulations, Chrissy. Better an Aunt/Uncle than a parent!

D2 - I couldn't agree more.
As much as I love my niece,
I just can't imagine her being
with me 24/7.
Being an aunt - "real" or "pseudo" - is the best! congrats!

I never knew how much I could love a baby until my niece came into my life. Congratulations, Chrissy!
Congrats!!! Best wishes to the parents-to-be!
Felicitations!
I love babies. I wish I could be an aunt, but I am the oldest so I will probably have to be a mom before I'm an aunt, which is more fun with half the work!
