We have a apple household. Our older airport extreme ( the one shaped like a football) has been a little weird lately. The signal keeps coming and going. I went to Best Buy yesterday and bought a new wireless router ( non apple brand..Lynkys or something like that) that was highly recommended and only $59.00. Had trouble installing it and it is kind of slow.. so taking it back today. Should I just buy the new airport extreme? ( it is $179.00). Or is there anything else I should try? We tried all the resetting and channel changing, and interference options with the older airport extreme. It will work great for a little bit and then start flaking again. Thanks for any help.

All I can add is that I have an airport (shaped like a large cigarette pack) and when I got it it was $99. It gives me no trouble.

My husband just put in a T-Mobile "D-Link".
Here it is.

I think Linksys is better than D-Link.

I used to have D-Link and I had a lot of trouble with it and it was really slow so someone I know that is good with computers told me to get Linksys by Cisco and it is fast and really easy to set up.
It's like a rectangular shape and it's pretty thin.
I got mine at Best Buy and it was like $79 or something like that.

My husbands awake and said he only got the d link because it was free. He was the IT supervisor for Capitol for the last 5 years and said that you should get the Cisco.

It is the best bet for the money.

Well.. I read this right after I spent the $179.00 on the airport extreme which is working great. But I might buy a cisco tomorrow..see if it works as well and return the extreme. Especially if it is cheaper.
