It's getting silly now. So far this week, I have accidentally become nocturnal (we're approaching 4am and it still doesn't feel like bedtime), been utterly surprised with the news that this weekend is bank holiday weekend, scarcely managed to keep the day of the week straight in my head at any point, and I've only just managed to convince myself it's still August 22nd (well, 23rd now). For a bit, I was SURE it was September already. :/

But on the plus side, I've finished rereading all the Harry Potter saga, so I can get on with my life now. :3

This happened to me last year. The transition to "daylight" was intense! I just know that a genealogical search would reveal that my Italian ancestors from Foggia made more than a few trips across the Adriatic Sea into Romania!

I need to do the same thing very soon. We go back to school next week, which means it's back to getting up at 6 AM, so I can't be up until 2 anymore. If I did that, I'd be falling asleep while trying to teach the kiddies.

I'm basically a late-night person myself. This reminds me of a late night - early morning marijuana session a friend-girl and I had by a campfire a while ago. She had come up with this theory of evolution which has not yet become commonly accepted, so no one yet knows about it. Basically:

Dinosaurs were not supposed to become extinct. It was some extra-terrestrial cataclysm like a comet or asteroid that struck the Earth which caused their extinction. So humans were supposed to evolve alongside dinosaurs. ("Imagine how easy it would be to build the Pyramids or the Great Wall if they had had dinosaurs helping them.")

Because some dinosaurs were predators, humans were supposed to be nocturnal creatures that could survive the predators by going about at night. However, dinosaurs became extinct before humans arrived on the scene. Since there was no one to chase humans around during the daytime, humans became confused and this upset our nocturnal instincts.

I guess that's one way to rationalize being a night-owl. But I still get chased around during the day, but not by dinosaurs.

So don't worry if it's " 4 am and it still doesn't feel like bedtime". It's normal, really.

If you read Weez' posts you'll realise she's one of the smartest people on this site.

Did you happen to be watching a "Flintstones" marathon during this smoking session?

Oh no. I can see I set myself up for that one. But, no, I've never watched the Flintstones. I've never heard my friend talk about it, either. And this was years ago.

My only point was that if anyone asks Weez why she stays up so late, all she has to say is
"Because dinosaurs were never supposed to become extinct."

No one will argue. In fact she may notice how fast people leave the room.

I'm warning you, I'm a different person at night. ; -)

Actually, I stay up all night because most of YOU people are in completely the wrong time zone. If I go to bed at a sensible hour, I miss all the drama! ;_;
