(I'm assuming you mean in a production)
Congrats! Alas, 'tis a role I could never play, based on the fact I am male (unless males can play Peter, then in which case scratch that) and not too fond of heights lol. But congrats nonetheless!
Thanks!
And I didn't understand why is the fact that you are male
"stops" you from playing this role...
(And I know that my English is not so good...)

Most of the time, at least here in the States, Peter Pan is played by a female (famously by Mary Martin and Cathy Rigby).

Peter Pan has been played by men.
Robert Johanssen was an impressive Peter at the Papermill Playhouse a few years back and B>D> WOng toured in the role.

But wasn't it traditionally played by women? I thought
Barrie intended it to be that way. I grew up with the Mary Martin version. To me, she is Peter Pan.
OK, here is the deal with PETER PAN:
Yes, J.M. Barrie, the author of the play first produced in 1904, had wanted Nina Bouicault to play "Peter." He also approved of Maude Adams playing "Peter" in his play when Charles Frohman (the producer) took it to Broadway in 1905.
Through the years, it was traditionally played by women. ALL professional productions in the United States and in the UK until the '80s have had female actors play "Peter Pan." The first professional production to have a male play Peter was in the Royal Shakespeare Company's UK production in 1984 I believe. I need to re-check that date.
In 1951, Leonard Bernstein's musical production of PETER PAN premiered on Broadway, starring Jean Arthur as "Peter." In 1954, Mary Martin starred in another new musical version - the one most produced today, including songs "I'm Flying," "I Gotta Crow" and "Never Neverland."
In 1976, another new television musical version was done, starring Mia Farrow. This was only aired once and never again, because it was AWFUL.
EVEN TODAY, after over a dozen revivals to Broadway in the last 100 years, a male actor has never played "Peter."
And there is your history lesson for today.

Male actors may never have played Peter on Broadway, but they most certainly have done so in regional and touring productions.
1982 was the first production in the UK where a male has played "Peter Pan" in a professional production, Miles Anderson.
The only other times a male was "Peter" was in 1906-1911 in the UK at the Duke of York Theatre - where a one-night-only stage reading was done, and was invitation only.
Yes, regional, amateur, and non-professional tours before 1982 had male actors play "Peter," but nothing professional until 1982.
[This only includes the US and UK. Poor/lost records in other countries prevent us for knowing for sure.]

I'm not saying this new fad isn't becoming popular. I simply stated the history and tradition.
The think the future will be WITHOUT female "Peter Pans."
Cathy Rigby will be the last, methinks.
