That is awesome...we are doing the play next year...is the play a male part or a female, or does it matter?

Now wait a minute. The Papermill Playhouse is a highly esteemed institution in New Jersey--about 20 minutes from NYC. It is a state-funded theater that presents lavish revivals of musicals and new works (it is the current home of HAROLD AND MAUDE). I saw Robert Johanssen's marvelous performance in PETER PAN. There was talk of the production moving to New York, but Johanssen injured himself in the flying sequence and those plans never materialized.

What year was this? CAN'T be pre-1982.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."
