Isn't a burnt toast smell supposed to accompany a stroke?

I live in Seattle. Burnt coffee is everywhere.

but I didn't. I just checked. Maybe its coming from downstairs - our neighbors cook the most godawful smelling foods... the smell in our halls always makes me want to hurl. (not to mention the color - pea soup green - oy)
