If you can't stand the heat, as they say...
Look, my first day on the board I was relentlessly pummelled over and over by a bully. But instead of whining about it or running away, I decided to ignore that person from then on out.
That's what grownups do. They all learn to live together, or they get out. Whining is for children and it wastes bandwidth.

A step is a step. If AlmostThere feels comfortable enough to ask that question here, and I am saying this thinking there might be a reason behind it other than meer curiosity, we could show a little support and not be so cutting. This is a board populated by those in the industry and those whom are supporters of the industry. I can understand many reasons for bringing that sort of question here. Bullies are common, maybe not so prevalent in the world of theater than in other media but they still exist non the less.

Insomniak....well said. I believe that if everyone feels safe about posting their thoughts it will add to this wonderful theatre community. If people are fearful of posting because people attack them imagine how much we will all be missing.

I got messages from people who have interesting things to share but don't want to deal with the negativity and attacks. Your point is well taken, but I ask...is it that hard to just treat everyone with dignity and respect? Yes you can ignore it but why?

I always love being lectured by someone new, and it immediately makes me kind of regress and want to say something snotty, for no special reason. But I've gotten hold of myself and will act mature. Yours is not a sentiment with which I necessarily disagree even, I just find it a tad premature for you to be leading brigade. There are layers of things going on...history...new identities...of which you presumably have no clue.
But fear not... you're not the first, and certainly won't be the last to beat this particular drum.
