I've just witnessed Wicked meets Star Wars

I feel the need to share with you all what I've just experienced. Yeah, so I just came back from my high school's variety show, and part of the concept was Wicked meets Star Wars. Yes, that's right. Elphaba met Darth Vader, Darth Vader feels Elphaba is too dark, and Darth Vader goes to Glinda because "opposites attracts." After getting dumped by Darth Vader, Elphaba goes on to sing a jazz remix rendition of "I'm Not That Girl." Oh, it was...interesting. And to top it off, the Wonderful Wizard of Oz was really Willy Wonka. Wicked fever is full blown in Chicago's high schools.

Okay, I think a small part of me died on the inside after reading that.

Luckily, a large part of me just came alive after I just got done watching the 2nd season of Arrested Development on DVD in a single sitting - the best way to watch it, if you have the time.

Unless they announced something today - I haven't been looking today - it's not officially cancelled, YET. They took it off the air for the rest of November (it's back December 5th) and decresed the episode order from 22 all the way down to 13. They haven't announced it's official cancellation at this time. But if you want to try and assure it stays on (for now), here's a list things you can help us do about it.

Okay...back to the PURPOSE of this thread...

I think the concept is about as functional and sensible as having wheelchair tap classes.

BUT...if it gets Chicago kids to learn a little about musical theatre...then okay. What the hell.
