That is ridiculous. Tell your boss that you are sorry that she is having family difficulties, but it is *not* your responsibility to take care of her sister's issues. Maybe I am just a person who will not take crap from people, but this is absolutely ridiculous and you cannot let her just take advantage of you like that. It is not your responsibility to pick up where her sister left off. And it is absolutely NOT your responsiblity to "prove" anything to your boss with the invoices either! You shouldn't have to reason with her and you shouldn't have to explain yourself. You are taking a week off and what you do with that time is absolutely none of her business. You can sit on your butt in your living room and rot for all she should care! It is your time off and if you already had gotten permission to take the time off, you absolutely should not have to reason with her.
Furthermore, if she fires you, I am almost positive that you could sue her for it. It seems totally unethical to me that you could schedule time off and for her to just arbitrarily say that you can no longer have the vacation. Grr! It seems like you are a very nice person. Do not let her walk all over you!
P.S. I am not suggesting to sue the woman... only that she shouldn't fire you, bc that is just not right and you could probably get her in trouble for it.
