I want to rip out every hair on my head, and then cry some more.

My mom grounded me for going on the computer. Grounded for a month. Which means I'm probably not going to be able to go to Homecoming. She never told me I couldn't. And she took away my Hairspray cast recording, which I had literally had in my hands for half an hour. She's been screaming at me for a while now, and my wrists are really hurting. I have a ton of homwork to do. I feel lke I'm going to cry. Not a single person appreciates me, or the things I try to do. I always think of other people before me. I'm a good person. I love kids, and animals. And everyone hates me anyway.

Gov, he/she went on the computer when they weren't supposed to, and got grounded, then came BACK on the computer while their mother was talking about sending them to boot camp... *sigh*

You mean you broke the rule about not going on the computer, but you're allowed to go on during your grounding??? Sweet deal! When my parents caught me smoking underage, not only did my grounding include never smoking again, but I had to donate $1000 of my hard earned money to the Canadian Lung Association!

WOW, type. That is HARSH. God, I would have screamed Noooo and told them to shove it.

Not really, I would have cried and done what I was told. I am such a push over. LOL

Tiff, I think it was REALLY wise of your parents to do that actually.... I don't know in hindsight if you agree with me but they prevented a bad habit....I think the donating money idea is great- harsh- but great.

Okay, so the CAD$1000 equals, like, US$4.72, but it killed me all the same. I was a 15-year-old making $7.15/hr! (It didn't help that exactly one week prior, my dad had a heart-to-heart with me where he told me his one biggest life regret was smoking for 20+ years.) Good lesson though. It taught me not to smoke...or at least, not to get caught!

So buck up, BroadwayMonkey, at least you're not 1K in the hole!

Don't do that Monkeybaby...if we wanted a bald crying girl we'd ask for Sinead O'Connor.

"If it's $1000 Canadian, it aint that much!"

hahahahahahahahaha

Every teenager thinks "parents just don't understand." I did.
Every teenager thinks "my parents are unreasonable." I did.

When I was 18 I joined the Navy. During the summer that most of my friends were enjoying being post-high school/pre-college people I went to a magical place called boot camp. I'm not talking about "boot camp" like on Maury Povich. I'm talking about a place were you are just another face amoung thousands, were you don't know anyone, and nobody gives a shat about you. It was about three days in when I realized "maybe Mom and Dad weren't too bad after all."

You were a teenager and had $1000? (even if it were Canadian)
That's a whole additional thread. Teenagers work, but don't have any expenses. When I say expenses I don't mean clothes, or CDs, etc. I mean rent, heat, electric, cable, phone, insurance, etc. etc. Then when they are in the "real world" they think "why am I so broke?"
