INCREDIBLES DVD

The film is great, but what I want everyone to see is the short called "Boundin'" It features a really funny little lamb that I believe was based on Marc Shaimin. Serioulsy, the lamb looks like Marc. It is so silly. Also there is a really cool short made by Sarah Vowell. Check it out.

Sueleen, I LOVED the little lamb short! My friends and I were laughing so hard at that part when my college showed it a few months ago. I had almost forgotten about it. Thanks for the reminder.

I love this movie. My favorite part:
"Name, please."
"Edna. Mode."

Edna Mode is the only time this film truly comes to life. Oh, and the off-screen wife of the Freeze Superhero. Shamrock is right.
Now, the Edna Mode doll is worth having. She reponds to your comments. She is more fun to own than the film is to watch, in my opinion.

Jose;
We already know you are a mean grouch. No need to come and rain on our parade.
You hussy.

Posted: 3/17/05 at 7:40pmI love, love, love this movie. Saw it 3 times in the cinema, and bought the dvd the minute it came out. I thought it had a great story, didn't rely on pop-culture crutches (à la Shark Tale), and the animation was superb! But that's just my opinion...

"Don't tell me not to gripe
I simply got to"
This mean, but lovable, grouch says, "buy the Edna Mode doll."
Edna is the unpredictable "Hussy" element in that film. The rest is predictable.

Posted: 3/17/05 at 9:11pmOh honey. You "would" go into this film to analyze and criticise. I enjoyed it so much. i didn't give a thought to what was predictable, what was believeable.. or any of that. I just had a great time.

Some hussies are just easier to please.
What can I say?

Posted: 3/17/05 at 9:54pmI thought that "The Incredibles" was one of the most entertaining and unique examples of skillful storytelling this side of "Sideways".

Posted: 3/17/05 at 9:58pmFor the uninitiated: the "Edna Mode" character is based on legendary Hollywood costume designer Edith Head. Edna's voice is done by the film's writer/director, Brad Bird (who used to work on The Simpsons).

When you get the DVD, check out the "Easter Eggs." Any time you have one of the menu screens on, just let it sit for a little while, and a little Omnidroid silhouette (looks like a little spider) will appear at the upper right of the screen. Highlight and click on it, and you'll get a surprise bonus feature. I won't spoil, but playing with it tonight, my favorite "surprises" were the ones that came from the Main Menu page on Disc 2, and the "Set Up" menu (where you make language choices) on Disc 2.
Edna is brilliant. Love her to bits. "I never look back, dahling, it distracts from the now."

Edna is by far the best character in that film
"My G-d you've gotten fat"
