Period.
Ugh...
IT'S FREAKIN BERNADETTE! WHAT'S NOT TO LIKE?!?!?!?!?!?!?
I don't know, love. My dad is like, her groupie.
I WISH!!!
My parents wonder why I rave about her so much...
anyway.
I must adieu to watch Johnny Depp...
geez my life sucks at the moment...
Not if you're going to see Sexy!Irish!Johnny it doesn't!
that was the point...
I'm out the door...
bye!
mwa mwa
Have fun! I'll be waiting...unless you come back after two my time. Then I'll be sleeping.
I'll fill you in later...
But the movie was brilliant. I was crying for the last 15 minutes. It was so moving...
anyway I'm off to bed..
night all
Okay...when you get up, come and fill me in! I'll be waiting! Uh, unless it's between the hours of 4 and 9 here--that's strictly-enforced 'family time' which means me sitting on the couch whining about my sister watching MTV.
I'm here!!!
The movie was brilliant. I started sobbing after the play premiered...it just got worse and worse...When they took the play to the house, and she found neverland...i was a wreck.
What a beautiful film!
It was gorgeous, wasn't it? My dad had a real problem with her character. He said that they tried so hard to make it obvious she wasn't a love interest she lost most of her character. "She's just the mother who coughs!"
I loved it!
But she was a love interest...He loved her, but not in that way...
Well, if you're going to get technical about it...
I thought both Johnny Depp and Kate Winslet were wonderful. What truly touching performances.
I agree. And what a good look for Johnny!*
I'm glad it's up for so many awards.
* It should be noted that the author has said this about each and every look Johnny Depp has ever sported, including Edward Scissorhands, drag in Ed Wood, and Pirates of the Caribbean.
that's cos its Johnny Depp....
He can't do anything but be hot...it's just him...
I'm glad it's up for awards too...
Do you think it'll win? I mean, everyone who's seen it that I know has adored it, but it's gotten some pretty mixed reviews.
I doubt it'll get Best Picture...
But it certainly deserves it more than LOTR last year...
Watch it...you're talking to a hardcore LotR fanatic...
I love them...
but the RoftheK did not deserve 11 awards...
They deserved a special Oscar...but not all of them.
I am not a HUGE fan of the books, though I liked them. BUT THEY DELETED ALL OF MY FAVOURITE PARTS OF THE BOOKS!!!
WHERE THE HELL IS TOM BOMBADIL?!?!?!?!?!?!

*pats* There there, honey. He lives on in your imagination.
I've been a fiend for the books since 7th grade...you have no idea what a geek I was from fourth grade--->now.
But the films ruined the ending.
There are so many references to Tolkiens life in the book, and returning home from the journey to find Saruman in the Shire was such a blatant reference to the rise of Hitler...
*sigh*
(but maybe that was inadvertant. Depends on when it was first published I guess)
Okay, that one I'll give you...see, I was always more into the books than the movie. I thought they were perfect. I'm one of the weirdoes who actually read "The Silmarillion" and the others (although I've been looking for "Morgoth's Ring" for years).
Not that it means I don't have a huge poster of Viggo and Orli over my bed, but...
I always thought that there should have been 6 movies. One for each book.
Everyone forgets that each "book" actually contains 2 books.
That way they would have made more money, and the book fanatics would have been kept happy...
Oh, honey, nothing can make us happy!
And I'm one of those really bad ones...I actually speak Elvish. No sh!t.
