If McCain loses tomorrow, will he revert back to the 'maverick' he actually was (through 2000), or will he continue to play to the conservative base of his party (post y2k)? He would be up for re-election in 2010, and could face popular governor Janet Napolitano, who is term limited.

He does not have any maverick credibillity and will be judged harshly if he loses. I do not think he will have any power in the Senate.

Watching him in these final days I wonder if he will even serve out his Senate term if he loses. I think he'll retire, maybe even tomorrow night.

Joe, I was just thinking the same thing. He is not a happy camper and the stress is getting to him. He should retire and buy a farm in Alaska!

I agree, if he loses IT'S A WRAP!!! Cut your losses and move on. Retire with some shred of dignity and just relax. I'm not quite 22 yet and I couldn't even handle the stress of this juggernaut of an election, I can only imagine the kind of toll it would take on someone who's 72.
However by the time 2012 rolls around who do you think McCain would endorse? Obama for a second term or his mistake of a VP nominee Palin. I mean essentially she kind of lost this for him with her "rogueness."

I am thinking he might just choose to retire to Cindy's homeworld.

Joe, he'll go to the South side of Z-549 quadrant 3, just West of Krypton77 second star to the right and straight on till morning.

I of course meant Cindy's home TOWN! Any inference that she is an alien is a dirty lie, as she will no doubt convince you in this news story.
Cindy McCain just like any other human female
I always assumed Cindy's hometown was Stepford.

If McCain loses (oh happy thought!) he will suffer a stroke of epic proportions immediately following what slight non-commital concession speech he feels compelled to make. Blood will come gushing out of his eyes and ears and he will fall to the ground, a dessicated husk of his former self.
Cindi will not be able to contain herself, and will fall upon his remains and eat them with gusto before the horrified eyes of onlookers.

I am embarrassed by my own lapse in judgment. It was tasteless and childish when the Republicans mercilessly mocked Hillary Clinton and Theresa Heinz Kerry for some unflattering photos. I do not want to stoop to their level, mocking Mrs. McCain because of the way she photographs.

Sarah will throw a bucket of water on Cindy and like burning plastic, she will melt into the ground. Cheno will suddenly appear on a bubble and declare that she is dead!
What do you mean "if"???

"I always assumed Cindy's hometown was Stepford."
That's what I was thinking?
If he chooses to retire, then good luck to him and I hope he has a fulfilling retirement. But uh... just because 72 is pensionable age doesn't mean he's definitely going to drop dead in a couple of months because OMG HE'S SO OLD! Angela Lansbury's in her 80s and she's still doing Broadway. The Queen's in her 80s too, and it's only in recent years she's been reducing her monarchly duties, with no sign of abdication yet. 72 is kinda old, but it's not as old as quite a lot of people are acting like it is. O_o

I'm not talking about his age- I think if he loses he will be embittered and resentful, not old.

He's already embittered and resentful.
Feel free to mock Cindy for the way she photographs. There can be no high road when dealing with these scum. Mock away, they deserve it, and would certainly do the same to anyone else without hesitation.
