And since I always wanted to be a stripper I was quite taken by a production of Gypsy. When I was in High School in the 1970's our Drama Club went to see Gypsy with Angela Lansbury. Our advisor took us to the stage afterwards to meet Angela Lansbury. I managed to separate from the group and started to walk down the runway attached to the stage. Seeing what I had done, I ran back with the group as they were involved with a Q and A with Angela Lansbury . I managed to ask her what pasties were glued on with. I dont remember much after that.

Take the "if" right out of that sentence. I hung up my dancing clothes years ago, but when I was doing my thang, I went by the name "Geronimo." A guy in a bar in Orlando gave me that name. Don't really know why.

My favorite stripper name came from Tyne Daly when she was appearing on the Geraldo show during the run of GYPSY. [This is probably the only thing that came from Geraldo that I find worth repeating...] Tyne said that her stripper name would be:

Good God, no! I just used to dance on a box or two. (And some other places with showers on bars...)

It was a brief stint to pay some bills, and was a little dirty. But I kinda like that.

At least I didn't eat cat foot like Elizabeth Barclay and Gina Gershon in Showgirls.
