Infomercials

Anyone think these are the best thing to happen to TV in a long time?? I only watch the food appliance ones though.

I love those freaking pancake things...I can't make pancakes for my life.

The food stuff is the best to watch!

I always hate how the people having such a touch time cracking eggs...

re: Infomercials

that would be the "miracle blade perfection series." I have that one practically memorized. (I know I'm incredibly pathetic)

re: Infomercials

I like watching them just to see how lazy some people are. How many appliances do you need? Oh well, it's still summer and there's nothing else on.

re: Infomercials

I've seen the Magic Knives, I've seen the "set it forget" roaster, I've seen the Alexis Vogel makeup, I've seen Susan Lucci's sparkle skin care set, I've seen Bruno's split ender (doesn't work) and big rotating hairbrush, I've seen too many infomercials and I bet 99.9% of the products don't work or don't live up to their name.

A long time ago I saw one for a "samurai sword."

As if they'd sell proper katanas through infomercials. :P

re: Infomercials

I love infomercials. They're great. I sit in bed at three in the morning and watch infomercials for pillows that "cradle your head and neck" and Tempur-Pedic beds. I think they put those on late at night for a reason.

I really like the "set it and forget it" one. I don't get many channels on the little television in my room, but one night, it was on - in Spanish. I watched it and knew exactly what the guy was saying, even though I don't speak Spanish.

Oh, and the ones for knives. Those are great. And the blenders. *goes to watch an infomercial*

I have the Turbo Cooker and the Vacuum Saver from Tillia and they both work beautifully....

All I have is George Foreman Lean Mean Fat-reducing Grillin' Machine. That's a mouthfull. . .

re: Infomercials

Anyone seen the Alexis Vogel makeup system? My gosh, I would hate to use that stuff...it seems so pornstar to me. After all, it's endorsed by Pamela Anderson.

I always wanted the dehydrator, and the sushi rolling kit. And so many other things.

re: Infomercials

Love Em! I try not to watch them though b/c I always end up buying hair removal and/or ab products that don't work....
#15

re: Infomercials

oh, and I also have that little personal hair removal thing. Works great.

re: Infomercials

i can deal w/ most infomercials except the guy on 'oxyclean' really annoys me. he sort of yells but sortof doesnt. i always wonder how he talks in real life...
#17

re: Infomercials

He annoys everyone. I think its that frame of mind tat if you keep annoying someone they'll buy it just to shut them up. Oh and LadyG!! It's so funny because for the egg cracking thing when they have the dramitization (i use the term loosely, if it's spelled correctly) where the person is checking their watch and wiping their brow from the time-consuming effort it takes to peel hard-boiled eggs.

re: Infomercials

awesome- i just saw the chocolate one, where basicly what they're selling is a black bowl in which you can... melt chocolate. but you have to buy the chocolate seperately. one day i came home from school and there was a box that said "6-second abs" on it. my jaw dropped as my mind raced- had i been drunk? no, my mother ordered it as some part of a mid-life "i should be thinner" crisis. relief...and then sarrow.

re: Infomercials

Haha it's 3:30 and Ron Popiel's knives are on as are the Jack Lalaine power juicer. I actually asked for a juicer for my bday and got it, but it wasnt his.

Don'tcha just hate that woman who gets all moist over vacuum-sealing everything? She really needs to remove that feather from up her ass!

re: Infomercials

Exactly! That's why we like them so much. Our brains can't handle the great action-packed, emotion-inducing, education-giving that is real television.

There was one infomercial that I really liked, I would watch it all the time...I can't remember what it was, though. *frowns*

re: Infomercials

Im kinda surprised the Bo-Flex infomercial wasnt mentioned yet. but i like the chef tony knives too. hahah its so addicting to watch.

re: Infomercials

Arg, damnit. I just deleted my post because I thought it was a double post, and it wasn't, somehow. *grumbles*

What did I say? Uh...I don't really like the Bow Flex commercials. But Chef Tony's knives, that was the infomercial that I watched all the time. I loved to see him cutting through shoes and frozen orange juice. My mother asked, "Why would you want to cut through shoes?" and I responded, "Why WOULDN'T you?"
