I guess that is OK since that is the part that outlines the failings of Bushco. I still won't watch. I saw the CBS documentary last night for the second time. It was a real documentary and it was very powerful.

i thought this article from the link ywiw? provided was very interesting...
NEW YORK (AP) - ABC made several editing changes to the first part of its miniseries "The Path to 9/11" following furious protests by Clinton administration officials that it fabricated scenes about their actions prior to the terrorist attacks.
But the network resisted calls to cancel the $40 million miniseries, airing commercial-free over two nights. Part two is scheduled for Monday, with an interruption for President Bush's address to the nation.
Several scenes were cut or changed from the movie that aired Sunday and finished 20 minutes shy of its three-hour time slot. ABC has called it a dramatization, not a documentary.

You may be right papa -
We will see.
And I think the documentary on CBS was actually of French origin - I think two french filmakers were just by chance with a firefighter that day when the chaos started.
You can actually buy it on Amazon.

Posted: 9/11/06 at 12:37pmI watched the CBS documentary last night for the 2nd time. The two brothers who worked on that didn't just happen to be with those firefighters that particular day, they had been filming them for sometime. The two brothers reuniting in the firehouse after all the destruction, got to me again.

Posted: 9/11/06 at 12:42pmThe CBS documentary was made by 2 French brothers that were actually making a documentary about a rookie fireman and just happened to be there at the time. They took the famous footage of the plane crashing into the first tower. I think they may be Americans now since one of the brothers was shown getting married at the firehouse in 2002. It was a very moving documentary and tough to watch.

It is something worth having.
It is something to have and watch once a year.

The real reason for the failure of the ABC propaganda is that the American people don't want fingerpointing. Too many lives were lost, and the perpetrators were never found. All that happened was a wrongheaded war in which more lives were lost.
The only thing the American people want in terms of remembering those who died on 9/11 is a generosity of spirit and a sense of grace.
That ABC and the producers thought they could strike a ratings bonanza by fingerpointing shows how out-of-touch they are, the same way Bush and Cheney and the Republicans are out-of-touch by politicizing 9/11 and Iraq.
It is morning and America and the people will not be lied to any longer.

Posted: 9/11/06 at 12:51pmyeah, it had nothing to do with the fact that last night's game, the "manning bowl", had been hyped almost as much on broadcast television as this had been maligned on the internet.

papa -
I hate the Raiders, but my mantra tonight - anything but ABC.
So ESPN, even if it is an affiliated company, is looking pretty good for tonight's TV.
And, you are right about the Manning Bowl being hyped.
I do find it interesting that the CBS documentary, which had almost no press and had aired before, pulled almost identical numbers to the ABC fictionalized account.
And, don't forget, tonight's WWE's Monday Night RAW on TNT!

Posted: 9/11/06 at 1:09pmywiw, remember last night was katie's first night on 60 minutes. even without her, 60 minutes was averaging a 9.2 this summer so add in a few for her debut (which was hyped throughout the us open among other places) and you've got yer audience right there.

The thing is, nobody watches network TV anymore, and in general people do not commit to miniseries. It's generally unlikely that people will pick up and watch a miniseries for the second installment without having seen the first.
The low-rated "Road" picture would probably have done better on a premium cable network where it could have been presented as an "event" and shown multiple times. Regular broadcast TV is pretty much a graveyard and there really was no way that this was going to do well.
On another note the 18th season premiere of The Simpsons on Rubert Murdoch's Fox TV pretty much rocked.
