Help! I'm going on vacation tomorrow and I wanted to update my ipod with some limewire tunes. Only problem is they're on my sister's account, so I switched users and plugged my ipod in. It said "make this regular library" and I clicked yes, and now all my other music is gone and I don't know how to switch libraries associated with my ipod and get it back! Help pleease!
Anyone? I know it's a short bump but I leave at 5 am tomorrow and I want to go to bed soon.
go back to your library and redownload your music... how ever you switched users before...do it again...
That's just it...I do it on my other library, so the window to switch my ipod library should pop up, but it doesn't.
oh....ummmmm....maybe unplug the ipod and replug it into the computer?
I really have no clue. I barely know how to use mine. I pulling this out of my....butt....
If you have a network, file share the songs on your sister's computer on to your computer. If not, download a program called "ourtunes" (search it in google), and that will let you take music she has in her iTunes to your computer. Then, upload the music to your iTunes, then make your iPod recognize your library as the one to read from. It shoudl all work.
Hope this helps!
finally! someone who sounds like they know what they're doing!
What is the setting for your iPod update? Manual, or automatic? You may want to to change it to 'manual' for both accounts, and that will prevent the songs from your iPod to get deleted when you switch accounts.
For now, disconnect the Ipod, and then re-connect and start up iTunes and that should allow you to change the settings for both accounts.
What program are you using? If it's ITunes, it's under 'Prefrences'. Connect your iPod, open iTunes and choose 'Preferences' and click the 'Ipod settings' icon. There are 3 options of updating: Automatic update of all songs and playlist, Automatic update of selected playlist only, and Manual update.
yeah, the manual update should do the trick...
as far as getting all the other music back, you'll probably have to drag it back on...
I hate iPod sometimes, but I can't live without it!
