I think that is all God's decision. In my opinion, I see nothing wrong with it as long as they love each other. But the real answer to this question lies within God!

This is a wonderful sermon. If you, or someone you know, is in need of a deeper discussion of the Biblical text, I recommend an article on the Cathedral of Hope's website entitled "Homosexuality and Christianity."

The Dean of the Cathedral, Rev. Michael Piazza, is the article's author. He also has several books that might be of use, HOLY HOMOSEXUALS, QUEERIES: QUESTIONS LESBIANS AND GAYS HAVE FOR GOD, and RAINBOW FAMILY VALUES.

(For the record, I am a shill. I am Rev. Piazza's assistant, but I am also a member of the Cathedral of Hope who strongly believes in the materials I recommended.)

This couldn't be a better written or more compassionate, concise, and compelling sermon...homosexuality is the last blanket "no no" people are hanging onto from the Old Testament while tossing everything else out and it's always thrilling to see one more compelling argument for the case that this is what we are doing and this is what is wrong.

OMG, that was so beautiful. After reading this, I wan't to know what happened to Sally. Hopefully she didn't turn her back on her faith just because a couple of dicks said she was going to hell. I would give this to my dad to read, but he is a baptist preacher and he believes what most of America believes when it comes to homosexuality. He also believes that women shouldn't be preachers so that is another strike towards this sermon. Like that preacher, I along with other straight males on this board have stood up for what we believe in towards the subject just by being here and conversing with those that are gay. Maybe it is not a complete turn around for some, but it is a step towards the right direction. I don't see "gays," I see my friends and other people that deserve the same rights as me. I just want you to know that not every hetero male is a biggot and I love you all no matter what.

Wow that was great to read SO many people that I know (because I went to a Christian high school) absolutely hated homosexuals because they said it was a sin. If I could show them this now..

Ignorance is a sin. If same sex couples love each other, that is all that matters.
Love is the most important thing in this world.
What is life without love.
A Sin, is hating someone because they are homosexual. That is a sin my friends.

By the way,have you all seen the movie SAVED? It's very funny, yet touching and wise, and deals with, among other things, over-zealous Christians who want to "cure" homosexuals. Go out and rent the DVD - the cast is great - Jena Malone, Mandy Moore, Macauley Culkin, Patrick Fugit, Mary Louise Parker, Matin Donovan.

Thanks for the link 8Ball...that was a stunningly beautiful sermon. The Reverend Doctor did her research and gave everyone great ammo to deal with the "Christian" Right and their slanting of the Bible...too bad they can't see that they are this millennium's Pharisees.
