No new episodes until 2012?
They want to cut time out of the story for more commercials? Get real AMC. This is your best show!
May I remind the Public Theatre that this Summer should have included Taming of the Shrew starring Jon Hamm?

No it's not over. But feel free to cry that the sky is falling.
As almost every article today has pointed out - New episodes will air in earl 2012.
The issue isn't about Mad Men being over or not - it's whether Weiner will continue...

Regardless, I think they were reaching the end of the run, at least in terms of it remotely looking like the same Mad Men aesthetic. Late 60s Mad Men is going to look so different and the over year-long wait could play into how Weiner loves to jump forward.
I am pretty sure David Chase with The Sopranos (a mentor for Weiner) had even longer breaks between seasons.

And it could well be worth the wait!
I hope they keep Kiernan Shipka (Sally), who did some excellent work this past season.
I'd love to see a cameo with Sal.

Posted: 4/1/11 at 10:32pmThe season 4 finale 'Tomorrowland' stopped around Columbus day weekend in 1965. Weiner has been adamant about ending around 1970 there is going to be some jumps in those 3 seasons. I want to see what the late 1960s does to Roger Sterling!

Okay, I know I am late to the party, but I have been catching up on season 1. Is January Jones just a horrendous actress or am I missing something? She seems so out of place with the rest of these characters.

She is definitely too waifish. It made sense if they were going for Grace Kelly ice queen early on but when she has a third child it sort of made little sense that she stayed the same aside from the baby bump. I know they do time jumps but consider what the other female characters look like and do put on 'weight' in the series. I find Betty being pretty much unchanged in figure to be a minor blind spot for any other character but Betty is a real blind spot character in the series.
