The bitch is back!!!
Speaking of Raul, I was finally able to put Company on my to do list. It's not airing until the 21st, at 1AM, so we won't be able to watch it until that night. Don't spoil it for me!
It's a marvellous show. "Someone Is Waiting" sums my feelings on relationships at the moment.

hey PM. Glad you're finding happiness. You deserve it.
Hey kids!
Hey hey!
It's long overdue, Taz, but it's just nice to feel positive, y'know?
I also received some great news from Ogunquit, so there's a good chance of me returning for their season. Positivity all around.
And hello, fellas!
I'm going to head out, all of you take care! Stay healthy! ((hugs to all))

Bye love.
Hey kiva, foster.
I'm almost finished drawing one of the sets for the musical!
I'm proud to say the people who have read the outline love it! It's only a few, but hey, I'm happy!

And what musical is this, nitsua?
Oooh,
You should be super proud Austin. Doesn't getting that outline done feel like such a sense of accomplishment.
Over the past few days I have gotten pretty revved up about writing my musical, which I has been far too stagnant for too long. I want to get it workshopped next year and try and get it into some festivals next summer.
I saw a new musical recently in the city by a fairly well-respected local composer and while it was cute, it didn't have anything much new to say. It made me realize that I have a song-writing style that at least would bring something totally different, and a lot more real, to the Canadian theatre scene, and something that would resonate with my generation, and not in a gimmicky way. And hey....even if its just my ego making that up, its getting me off my lazy butt and working on it, which is all I can ask for.

Well, I'll be finished reading the outline tomorrow, so I look forward to seeing it.
It's called Willow Wild. I'm really bad about explaining it. Ask tazzy to explain it to you tomorrow.
It's nice to finish the outline, even if it's the outline. navi's busy on the lyrics. For a first timer, they're impressive.
Here are two set ideas -
This is what I see for the exterior scenes. It's Willow Wild.
This is one of the interior shots. It's the grand staircase.
I would like for the wall to remain still and let the pieces (dining room table, bed and vanity, etc) move in front of that. That may be too ambitious, though.
There are also some scenes in a cemetery and an abandoned building.
We're aiming for a very traditional musical. Something along the lines of R&H and Herman. It won't be anything like Wicked or Rent. I'm not sure if that's a bad thing or a good thing, though. We don't want it to be too old fashioned.
We hope to have the first complete draft finished by May or so, but we still need a composer! I haven't met any in Vegas.
That's impressive Austin. I really like that interior set.
Thanks! I'll post more pictures as I finish them.
I like the symmetrically of it. And it's simple. I don't want to depend on elaborate sets. They need to be simple, but functional.
I'm kinda scared my ideas are too big for the stage. I've seen impressive sets, but those had huge budgets.
It took me forever to draw that staircase. I finally drew to large circles and built the staircase between them. Very frustrating.
We're going to go watch Mildred Pierce. Bye, guys!
Austin,
You are pretty darn good at SketchUp! Better than me for sure.
My musical style is more along the lines of William Finn, or Jason Robert Brown. Small, intimate, modern sensibility, full of flawed but real characters. Very character-based musical writing.
I am actually writing a new outline as we speak, because I haven't done one in a long time and its god to reasses the structure and where I want the various storylines to go, and how they fit together.

William Finn is a god among men. I've never been as nervous introducing myself to ANYONE as I was with him.
Just checking in, 'cause I just got home. You're all fierce and I love you and I'm tired, goodnight.
I love William Finn beyond words. Where did you see him scott/
He's from Mass., I believe.
I love watching and listening to William Finn in interviews. He is so hilarious and self-depreciating....and he is a genius, and generous with sharing his process.
Akiva
He's a kook. And I love him!
Taz,
Did you ever study with him?
Akiva
No, I wish.
Me too. Oh man.
