I can't stand when a civil engineer thinks they know more about graphic design than I do. I don't tell them how to build roads, don't tell me how to design my work.

Mateo I REALLY like your Av. I was at Urban Outfitters today, for the first time and was really shocked that it had some wicked graphic books and figurines and stuff. Not at all what I thought it would be.

I used to love UO. I remember started a thread a year or two ago. UO + $$$ = HAPPINESS. Y'all remember that?
The only things I look at when I'm there are the books and house stuff, which are all overpriced.

Seriously..looking around that store everyone looks the same. Although to be fair, that whole part of Toronto has its own indie-scenester look.

My brother just moved here this week, he does graphics for an architecture firm. So we went shopping at all of HIS kinds of stores...which are so ridiculously over-priced that it made me nervous and I had to go outside and wait most of the time.

Hah thats funny. I'm not saying his graphic design-ness is what makes him shop at those stores...its his personal taste. Frankly if I wasn't constantly broke...I too would probably be shopping at those stores. But the fact that I am always broke makes me very self-conscious in that environment.
Thats interesting that you do essentially the same job as him though. He has been working with this company for almost 5 years I think, and worked at another architecture firm for a few years before that (started when he was 17 I think).
