C'mon, TONS of people have won an Oscar, an Emmy, a Grammy, and a Tony. The man obviously hates the entertainment business and is only out to destroy all that we hold dear just to satisfy his ego.

I saw your Dear Gable post and laughed.
They hate Brooks over there. I can't figure out why. A lot of talk about his ego, but have any of them actually met the man?

I love his movies and his old radio stuff with Carl Reiner is hysterical. I say if somebody that talented wants to try his hand in musical theatre, more power to him. He obviously succeeded with The Producers, so why not try Young Frankenstein?

I don't understand the absolute hatred of Mel Brooks and THE PRODUCERS on that board, I really don't. While I don't know Mr. Brooks, I have met the man twice and both times he was charming and funny. A little larger than life, perhaps, but that was part of the charm.

My whole problem with Mel Brooks is YF isn't opening until November 8. My due date is November 15 and my husband already vetoed taking a 3 hour trip with an 8 months pregnant lady for previews.

Boobsy, ignorance is, in this case, very much bliss...
But I, like moth to flame, sometimes can't avoid going over there, just to see if I have any blood pressure left. I must have because it usually goes through the roof when I read some of the commentary.
