I just got my Boosey & Hawkes edition of the Copland Clarinet Concerto! Yay!! (Ok, it's not a CD, but still...)
Which Wild Party Tink?
2000 Off-Broadway Cast
the Lippa one! That is one of my favorite all time cds.
Let me know what you think.
will do. I really know NOTHING about it, but it was highly recommended to me, so I said what the hell.
Oh it's good. You'll like it. I dance around and sing The Life Of The Party all the time.
You should hear my "Maybe I Like It This Way".

I have seen neither Lippa's or LaChuisa's. I have heard bits of both on here though.
Jaily, I know you work for this real estate place, but do you often play the clarinet in orchestras or anywhere us avatarians could experience it?
I def. prefer Lippas, tho adore the bway cast, 'cept Mandy.
Jaily, what instrument do you play that song on?
I rock the piano with Raise The Roof
Linnie, Lippa's is a blast to play. Very fun and Jazzy.

I wonder could Jaily play a number of his instruments at the same time. It'd be quite a sight.
Play, hell. I sing the SH*T out of it. I also do a *very* respectable "What Is It About Her?".
These days, most of my wind playing is in theater pits as a sub, Tink...I do, however, play the viola in several orchestras around town and in fact have a concert in Brooklyn at the end of July that you can come to! :)
yay!!! As long as I am in the area, i am there!! PM the info when you get a chance!!!
But not for your eyes, Linnie.
Jaily, will you let all of us know when the concert is?

Shush D2!
Jaily, I know you play most of the wind section, clarinet and double reeds, (oh, and flute) but could you please list your instruments in descending order of ability?
doodle...you freighten me sometimes..I feel the same way about "The Wild Party"..I saw both productions..loved the off-b'way, but loved the cast from B'way..except for the insane Mandy. That Bitch.Bastard. ruined Urinetown for me when I saw it off-B'way...his laugh was so loud and irritating that people were looking around from where this insane laugh came from..wasn't hard for me being he was sitting directly across the aisle from me.
It's July 21st at 8pm, at St. Ann's in Brooklyn Heights. The program is as follows:
Janacek: Suite for Strings
Barber: Dover Beach for baritone and strings
Mozart: Adagio and Fugue, k546
Hindemith: Eight Pieces for String Orchestra, Op. 44/3
Linnie, that's a slightly difficult question, because I am very comfortable on all of them, and have publicly performed standard repertoire as a soloist on many of them. However, if pressed, from my best to my not-so-best, I'd have to say
Clarinet/saxophone (but the sax only out of necessity)
English horn
oboe/bassoon
flute
viola
violin/cello
piano
(I am a hideous pianist...I can barely make it through the first movement of the Moonlight Sonata without f*cking up. There's a huge gap between my pianistic abilities and my string playing...I can at least manage a few violin and cello concertos without sounding like a COMPLETE cripple; not so much with the piano)
well your boy is having the time of his life here.
*damn spelling*
arghhhh....my dad is here from FL that weekend! I'm lucky i will be able to sneak away for GYPSY the night before! boo!
