Ahh, yes. I know a pair of gorgeous twins, too. That definitely would have been a highlight of my night.
Cute dress, by the way.

Thanks! $35 at Sears with a giftcard. I'm so cheap. Unless its theater related, I don't care enough to spend $400 on a dress like some girls did.

Niall and Connor. Now my best friend is dating Niall, the one I danced with.

Yeah, that's crazy. I think mine was just above $100, but my mom was paying for it, so I didn't care.

V. cute boys.
they are quite cute, DGG.
I had my dress made for me for prom (i didn't really care but I had an uncle come into my life briefly and try to "make up" for it) and it cost like $200. People are nuts.

My prom date:
Sigh......I love the girl!
After having like 8 diffrent changes to my prom date, I finally just took a friend I knew wouldn't back out. But he liked me and the feeling wasn't mutual, and down the shore after the prom, we had to share a bed, it was awkward. I was like about to draw a line on the bed in duct tape with the words "Do not cross" on it, lol.

I'm going to have to try to find pics of my prom. They're pretty funny now. Neither Hub nor I look anything like we did back then.
Lordy, I don't want to think about my prom. I came out to my date, whom I had been going out with for about a year and a half, the week before it. The restaurant we picked was nice -- I tasted ostrich for the first and only time -- but the music at the actual prom sucked. A friend had invited me to a beach house party afterward, but when we showed up, he had neglected to tell me that his MOTHER would be there with cake and punch. He and his girlfriend, who I guess didn't know that would happen either, then disappeared somewhere on the beach, and his mother panicked, making the rest of us search the beach for him for several hours. In our tuxes.

What a fiasco.

Today is definitely a day for COMPANY. Sometimes you just need some Sondheim.
Ah... prom! Let's see:
I flew across Texas to one my junior year. This girl I grew up with asked me and, thinking that we'd still be best friends, I accepted. Her parents paid for everything (except my tux). We had dinner at the country club with her best friend and the best friend's really, really hot boyfriend.
The theme was Egyptian Nights or something like that, and the dance floor was in this huge pyramid. I wish I had pictures of the dance, but I don't. I have the actual prom picture, but it's awful. The background sucks. I came out to her afterwards, and I knew she was very Christian (her dad's a pastor). I thought she'd want to know, considering, but she wouldn't hear it. I haven't talked to her since. It was an overall awkward night.
I went to three my senior year in consecutive weekends. The first was at this rinky dink Oklahoma high school and three (THREE!) of my past hook ups were there. Very awkward. At dinner, my date accidentally let it slip that I was gay and another guy asked, "What you gay for?" Yeah... SCARY!
My high school's prom was really bad. I almost got into a fight in the parking lot. I couldn't dance with my boyfriend.
The other one was really fun, but in a naughty kinda, X rated way.

Ha ha ha. I suppose it is. I was feeling pretty special when I took that picture, too.
I wish we had themed dances. Ours were boring up tight get dressed up, take a picture, eat food, and dance to the same DJ as the year before. That is it, nothing special. But then again we didn't have homecoming or any of the stuff either. I went to all my grade dances (soph, junior, senior), but I also was invited to go to all the other grades as well, so I essentially went to all of them each year. AV people may have been "dorks" in the old days, but when I went we got the hot invite everywhere, because everyone wanted to be on our TV's weekly school News show.
We had a ton of dances. They were all fund raiser opportunities.
Off the top of my head -
Welcome Week dance (second Friday of the year. Casual.)
Heewollah Dance (Halloween. Costumes were optional.)
Homecoming Dance
Winter Formal (usually in the first month of second semester)
Prom
I know I'm missing some. I remember a lot of smaller dances, held by clubs. I think there was one hosted by the Student Council.
hello dears. i didnt go to any high school dances
sheesh talk about killing a thread!
So I've been lusting after this cute guy at work: round bubble butt, adorable laugh, sexy swagger. And he's since shaved that thin beard he had going and now looks more boyish than ever. *sigh* Excuse me while I kneel...
Yeah, good luck with that Stagey.
Pounce on that, Stagey.
Heh. I even joined the Dunkin' Donuts Club (even though I don't drink coffee) so we'd have more interaction.
