Both fine. I sleep for about 3 hours. I didn't want to get up, but I promised that I'd bake a cake for a friend of mine before we hang out tonight.
If you didn't or don't read the Adult/Smokers thread, here's a capsule version of last night's posting.
Reading went great. Producer wants to acquire the rights to the show for production in London and/or New York. Less than two hours after the reading a theater company called said producer with an offer for production in London.
Flew home this morning.
I was there so briefly I had time to see only one show: GOD OF CARNAGE, but Yasmina (ART) Reza. Starring Ralph Fiennes and Janet McTeer. They were great, the play was so so.
Deet,
Sorry, I'm a bit out of the loop I haven't been around much lately. Is this a show you wrote?
Akiva
Yes.
Ooooh! Congrats!
What kind of show is it? Musical? Straight play? Comedy?
Akiva
Comedy/drama. It's been read in New York a couple of times, too.
Never been a Reza fan. Huge Deet fan though.
Everyone loves Deet.
At least everyone that matters.
The problem I have with Reza's plays (or possibly Christopher Hampton's translations) is that they are all more or less the same, and she takes on big, provocative and deep issues and then trivializes them - a very facile writer. GOD OF CARNAGE really made me think of WHO'S AFRAID OF VIRGINIA WOOLF - and it didn't compare favorably (how could it?)
DD, how is CHESS coming?

DEET! *hugs* Where's my Brit?
Girly, I don't know when I'm going yet, as I'm too broke to get a ticket into the city. And I still haven't gotten the book! I don't know why.

Hey you! I'm just chilling out while dad fires up the grill and smokes out all the bees to cook hot dogs. I was reading earlier to try and get out of my pissy mood, but the book was sad, so it made me cry. Woo!
How art though, my love?

I'm recovering nicely from my all-nighter, and in the midst of baking a funfetti cake for a friend of mine. We're going to hang out tonight and stuff our faces while watching America's Next Top Model. I'm excited!

Ooh! Can I come? My parents have friends coming for cocktails, which sucks for me because I don't drink.
I told you not to read Penthouse letters DGG. They make me cry too.

...I need to shower. I don't feel like it. So my suitemates managed to break the door into our suite. So now it only opens 1/3 of the way...
