We're grilling steaks tonight.
YUM!
In the memory of Heath, of course.

Dearly beloved, we gather here to say our goodbyes!

Austin, is that Margret Hamilton in your photo? I just ask because my mom looks eerily similar to her in some way...I mean her nose isn't hooked or anything, but otherwise it creeps me out how much they look alike...thats even her smile in her eyes and mouth.

Yes, its Margaret Hamilton. I'm not really sure why I picked her...

Akiva: Maybe you're Margaret's great grandchild or something?

I was 15 when my mom died. I can't believe it'll be 7 years in August.

I'm only talking about this because the whole Heath thing. I don't know about Priest and Tink, but I think people who have experienced a close, personal death take things more comically than other people. Sure, Heath is dead, but we'll all be dead eventually. Might as well laugh now while we can, right?

my step father hung himself in April, sorry if some of us do not take these situations more comically. You deal with things in your own way, that is fine, but don't expect others to agree or accept it. bringing up the two year old child as reasoning was what made your statement messed up, imo. Not comical in the least.

I'm sorry about the your loss, Tink.

I don't expect anyone to accept or agree with my point of view. The way I deal with things has gotten me this far. I didn't let grief kill me.

My stepdad attempted suicide after my mom died, but my stepbrother found him in time and he was treated.

What you said in the other thread wasn't funny. At all. If you meant it to come across that way, it didn't. Why you would even think that is just as Priest said, ignorant. I've always felt someone driven to suicide isn't the person they once were. I haven't read up on it or studied it, but I feel they think things (life) are so bad, their loved ones would be better off without them. Which is not the case. Those are my thoughts on that subject.

I remember you saying something just as ignorant in one of the Katrina threads when you were C_O or whoever you were at that time. You pretty much blamed the people that died, got stuck there, etc. for being in the situation they were in. Again. Ignorance.

"but I think people who have experienced a close, personal death take things more comically than other people."

Maybe you do. Not in my case. I lost my mom when I was 14 and my dad when I was 23. I didn't let grief kill me either.
I hung out with Cheyenne Jackson in his dressing room waayyyyyy before he tickled D2.

I'm so sick of people calling suicide a selfish act. It's just as selfish for others to want you to stay alive for their sake. Besides, there are several reasons why someone (knowingly or otherwise) decides to take their life.

Wow. It's been awhile since I posted!!

I got back to school and just got caught up in the business of things and stopped going to my computer for anything but msn and writing essays.

How IS everyone?

Suicide is selfish because it leaves the living ones to clean up the mess.

Just like holding on when some people are better off in peace is selfish.
