I think so, Taz - that condensced thing he created (which admittedly is supposed to be pretty good.)
I saw Stokes and Audra do highlights from P&B at the Hollywood Bowl last year, and it made me want to produce a full production on the spot!
Oh, to be independently wealthy
And WW, never apologize for not knowing - just embrace the opportunity to learn something new and wonderful (maybe!) And if anyone kids you about not knowing something, just tell them to f . . . well, you get the idea
Any of her songbooks. They're called simply:
"Ella Sings the ____ Songbook"
She does Cole Porter (my fave), Gershwin, Rodgers and Hart.
And there are compilations that collect the best of them for efficiency. You'll also get to hear some of the classic songs of the great bway composers which you may not have heard yet.
And like I told Soapy a few weeks ago, never be embarressed about not knowing some of these works. I haven't heard/seen many many iconic ones either.
Bebop scatting? Is that masturbating with feces?
I knew it

Predictability is . . . predictable.
DG, why do you despise me so?

SM2 - because sometimes I'm reactive as opposed to proactive. So if you really want an answer to that question, look to your own presentation, not my reaction.
Yeah... well... I like the Scarecrow better -- and so did Dorothy!

Which left the TinMan for me, thank God.
Well this works out perfectly b/c I have always liked the lion the best.
Never would've guessed you go for the big hairy pUssies, taz.
I don't know how well it works out taz, because I like the Scarecrow most.

Well, Dorothy really only wanted to go home, and if I had to vote between WW and SM2 - well, the result might not be as predetermined as it seems.
How would you determine your vote, DG?
SM, you're gonna give our "thread-monitor" agita

By observation, SM2, of course.
I'm an epiricist, through-and-through.
Don't you mean "eMpiricist"? What would you be observing?
Much can be learned by simply observing. Too many people rush to hasty conclusions b/c they don't look closely enough.
But if you pay too much attention to the trees, you won't be able to see the forest.

I do. I DO mean eMpiricist - thank you so much.
And I'd be observing things like that - which qualifies as amongst your most genial of posts.
Face it, SM2, if you read back through the totality of your posts, you present yourself as pretty much a Prick - with a need for adult inuendo, to boot. Are there those who have met you personally and can put what you post in context? Possibly. But I and many others don't fall in that category, and to us you're just an obnoxious bore.
But that's just my opinion, which ultimately means nothing.
Now I understand why you love the TinMan, because you have no heart. *tear*

Oh, good grief - HE'S the one without a heart, not me!
If anything, I always identified with Dorothy - always looking for home. And I found it.
And let me be clear - you're obviously intelligent, and oftentimes I can detect the satiric nature of your posts. But, many times, I just sit back and think . . . well, "Ewwwwww."
Knock ! Knock ! Are you guys home?
