there probably have on the main board. but aint no way in hell I'm going to read an SA thread on the main board.
So, bad acting? Was it the script? Or the direction?
Deet, your post was lost.
you said:
Frankly, I'm surprised there hadn't been any jokes about that up until now.
That was in reference to DEET.
As for SA, I'm not sure what to say about that - I was so taken with the entire experience that evening in the theatre that I can't separate the two when I listen to the OCR. The whole thing is so stylized that I think it's all about the choices made in presentation, which probably don't translate well unless you've seen it.
I see, thanks.
I didn't realize you enjoyed it so much. For some reason I thought you didn't care for it.
Deet, which did you prefer, CURTAINS, or SPRING AWAKENING?

I wondered about that. I really disliked the OCR upon first hearing it, but I've heard that the show itself is great, and more than makes up for it. I'll have to see it.
And with that, I go to bed. My contact lenses are telling me not to watch the meteor shower...goodnight lovies.
No, I loved it. I think because I went in with low expectations - "I have to see this because it's supposed to be the next greatest thing" sort of thing, but I was quite taken with and moved by it.
Wiz, I can't compare the two, they are so entirely different. I loved CURTAINS because I was so completely entertained by it, I loved SPRING AWAKENING because I was moved by it.
That's odd about the OBCR taz, because I loved it on first listen, but grew less fond of it the more I listened.
I do think though, that Sheik's music is fantastic.
It definitely had to grow on me Wiz, but I love it now. Of course all the best ones take time with me. Light in The Piazza was another one that took a work. But soooo worth it.
Ah, see I'm not too crazy about Light in the Piazza either. I think it's pretty, but I'm not as over the moon with it as some other people are.
Diffrent strokes, I guess...
hiya kids
LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA hit me immediately. I was floored by that show so quickly that I bought the CD at intermission, something I never do.
I just went outside to see the meteors, and it's raining here.
I'll wait a little while.
Hi Tink
Hi Tink!
I suppose I should give it some more listens, but I'm not crazy about it thus far. It took me a couple listens to get into MAME and I'm still getting into PASSION.
Funny, I loved Mame right away.
Except for "Happiness" I have never gotten into Passion
We just got back. We went to a park with a few friends and laid out to see the meteors. We saw 5 or 6 over about two hours or so. Then I had to pee so we left, lol.
I got attacked by a bat. It was quite comical. Not to me, of course, but to everyone else in the park.
Hi Tink!
PASSION is another one that, like LITP, is like catnip. Haunting threads of melody that just grow and develop and pull you right in.
Why didn't you just go behind a bush, Tink.
I've found a lot of Sondheim to be an acquired taste. LITP hasn't yet grown on me. I still want to see the Live From Lincoln Center performance, though. I had to work and missed it.
normally I would stagey, but after my bat incident I wasn't taking any chances.
AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Bats!
From AUNTIE MAME. Speaking of, sorta.
I missed the LITP telecast also, and the VCR didn't work that night - we set it up wrong. Kills me.
I would love to see that video SM. I am so disappointed that it's not on dvd.
Friggin' Lincoln Center and their damn capitulation to the unions.
I missed the LITP broadcast as well, but I'd love to see it.
Then again, there are a LOT of shows I'd love to see that I've missed...
