Will do, Deet. Just as soon as I finish my compilation work, AS MY GRANDMOTHER USED TO SAY... (A Book of Wisdom).
To paraphrase one of my favorite lines in moviedom:
Matty, I suspect you're a treasure.
Thanks Deet! I think.
I have no idea where that quote is from.
beat me to it Deet.
that would be a very fun book SM, seriously.
Matty, it's from NOW, VOYAGER.
is it a compliment?
What can I say, Taz, I'm fast this morning.
Matty, yes. It is most definitely a compliment.
Thanks Deet!
Which one, taz? My granny's?
That would be a fun book. I don't know why, but I'm picturing Cloris Leachman, done up in Guatemalan drag, sitting in rocking chair with a Blucher expression on her face for the cover.
yea, your granny's.
love Now Voyager btw. I love ALL Bette Davis movies.
That's because you have taste, Taz.
ALL ABOUT EVE - my favorite movie of all time. (that's such a gay cliche)
Have you ever seen ALL THIS AND HEAVEN TOO? One of her most restrained and touching performances.
My Bette watching only consists of "Return From Witch Mountain"
Like this, Deet?
Sort of, Stagey. But she'd be looking directly at the camera, with that hilariously sour look that she's patented. Sort of like "Phyllis meets Blucher meets Stagey."
Watchootalkinabout? I'm a grinning idiot.
You're partially right, Stagey.
night y'all,
Don't have to much fun without me!
lol. I don't think I've seen that one Deet. I've seen a lot of her films though.
It's from 1940 - a costume epic set in Paris, 1846. Charles Boyer and Barbara (Scarlett's Mother) O'Neil play an unhappily married Duke and Duchess, Bette plays their children's governess. It's gorgeous.
Did You Know? When I was 13, I was kicked out of a prep school in my hometown, the same one Bette Davis attended in the 1920s?
btw, why are you up so late deet?
I love Mr. Skeffington, The Letter, Jezebel
Can't sleep.
I love all three of those, Taz, particularly Mr. Skeffington.
what did you do tonight? Anything fun?
