Drive up to Seattle.
I've seen enough.
My favorite was South Dakota.
he said he needs to see more of the country Deet, not more of an insular city whose residents think it's all there is to the country.
Oooh, snappeth.
My next trip is either to NY (not sure when, it could be at the drop of a hat) or to Portland to see one of my good friends, and then perhaps drive up to Seattle.
Me and my friends have been trying to get together a cross-Canada roadtrip for a while now, but our schedules never quite coincide. We would start in the Maritime provinces and drive to my hometown in the heart of the Rockies.

No, Deet, the musical quote there should have been "New York is the center of everything!"
This insulated New Yorker LOVES Seattle. :P
Oh ... we're only a short 3-hour drive from Portland. Or you can take the train. And we're so much cooler.
I liked Seattle too.
And Spokane.
I'd love to live up there. Spokane, I mean.
My stepdad, mom and I stayed on that lake village once... um... I can't remember the name. I was 11 or so and I remember we had to take a boat from civilization to this small island thing. It was great!
Of course, Rath, you're right. As usual.
Why not make it all the way to Van, akiva?
Spokane? Really?
Hiya Avs!!!!
Not as usual. I can't even start a thread right. Right?
Can I just say the last few pages of this thread have been more interesting than much of the beginning to middle.
Of course you can, Rath. Why'd you delete it?
Hmm. . .for some odd reason I think Tennessee is pretty awesome. I love Maine too. I do need to see the western part of our country though.
DD,
How long is the train ride from Portland to Seattle?
I remember it being really, really pretty. And quiet.
We stayed with some of my mom's friends right on this river/creek thing, in the mountains.
Gorgeous!
Hah...I have actually never been to Van-city, which is weird because my dad's two brothers have lived there forever, and it really isn't that far from my hometown.
Spokane? Hah...we used to get all their TV stations growing up. I guess it was the closest American stations for us.

partial to Virginia myself.
One of my cousins lives in Portland. I've never been there.
But I've been to Vancouver twice. Beautiful city. So friggin' clean!
Mateo - It's just about 3 1/2 hours and it's a beautiful ride, a significant part of it along the Puget Sound.
Downtown Spokane was cute for a weekend visit, and the area IS beautiful, but I could never live there. It's like a different world from Seattle.
I liked Williamsburg, too.
William and Mary was my first choice, but of course I didn't get in.
i like places that are warm.
