D2 - that's nice to hear about your uncle. Our friends from up there are still out camping in the desert. The smoke from those fires today was absolutely stifling! The last we heard, one of them was only 15% contained - so here's hoping for better knews soon.

He didn't sound too concerned. Honestly, I think that drive up and down that mountain is getting to be too much for them and they're thinking of moving anyway. He's my mother's younger brother. He's 80.

Can you imagine having a younger brother who is 80?

so this is my boys are stupid semi rant for the night: the boy has a stomach virus that's going around. he finally went to the doctor yesterday and they gave him stuff to keep him from throwing up. so he still feels yucky today and instead of going to bed after work what does he do? clean his car for the last 2 hours. *head desk* repeat.

My father's oldest sister was 20 years older than him. And there were 9 in between.

My VERY Catholic aunt went through three husbands, all of which died - I can't imagine why.

Maybe it's because she had 26 children by them. And not one multiple birth.

We aren't in touch - she scares me.

And if you're the one with no interest, then texting might be easier in the long run. If the other way around, it spares you the embarrassment of making a scene (not that we would EVER do that. Never.)

The problem is, he assumed I was interested. He drove all the way across town to put water in my overheated radiator. He did all of this without making me feel like an idiot for knowing nothing about cars. I think he mistook me extreme gratefulness, for I-Love-You-ness. Which I guess is my fault, I can be a little too friendly at times.
